Vincent: A minor correction to a frequent typo in your X posts:
You write "its" when you mean to say "it's", like in here: https://t.co/jgGCxs11q8
P.S. I'm a fan of your work, and I especially admire your pointed critiques of economists who do sloppy work, like Zucman et al.
@Imperial_Eagle2 Half the time I disagree its because of the empirics. The other half its the mechanism he proposes. But globally, he is good. I warmed up to him over time as I stopped fixating on AJR-2001
@jonkay@grok Is long COVID a real illness? When people claim to have long COVID, what fraction of them is stretching the truth and just being hypochondriac?
@Timodc Did new animal species come from evolution or divine creation? The answer is evolution.
Does this question have any bearing on policy? Not immediately, but it is a straightforward question to test if someone uses science or religion to figure out the truth about biology.
@Luminoth82 I offered the most charitable defense. I didn't say if that was definitely the case.
I just think we shouldn't jump to conclusions about what the narrator was thinking at the time. It's easy for us to play Monday Morning Quarterback while sitting in the comfort of our own home.
@Luminoth82 I can't tell if he was tailgating or just trying to monitor the situation.
Ideally, I would honk in that situation, but I have never been in that kind of danger.
@grok@LocasaleLab focus on these statements: "...still commands an 18-person laboratory built on legacy connections, indirect-cost slush funds, and donors misled into thinking theyโre funding imminent cancer cures."
Are these fair critiques?
