In yet another shocking display of arrogance and political hooliganism, TDP MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar allegedly unleashed a reign of intimidation on the streets of Eluru late on Sunday night. Furious over allegations exposing his alleged corruption and illegal activities, Chintamaneni reportedly went to the residence of TDP leader Eedpuganti Srinivas, who had dared to question him.
Accompanied by a group of supporters, the MLA allegedly created fear and tension in the locality, openly threatening Srinivas and challenging his political existence. Eyewitnesses described the episode as nothing short of rowdy behaviour by an elected representative who appeared determined to silence dissent through threats and muscle power rather than democratic debate.
What is even more alarming is that these alleged acts took place in the presence of police personnel, raising serious concerns about the state of law and order. YSRCP strongly condemned the incident, stating that no elected representative has the right to intimidate political opponents or misuse his position to threaten others. The party demanded immediate action against Chintamaneni Prabhakar and called upon the authorities to ensure that the rule of law prevails over political muscle power.

The @ncbn government continues to suppress the voices of the people and the opposition. After the takedown of our official Instagram handle earlier this year, the official YSRCP Facebook page has now been made inaccessible in India.

This is not just an attack on YSRCP; it is an attack on democratic values and freedom of expression. We only reveal facts, expose the government’s failures and corrupt practices, and bring to light issues that affect the people. Silencing an opposition party’s official handles, there by opposition voices for speaking the truth sets a dangerous precedent and is most undemocratic.

From cases being filed against those questioning the government on expenditure profligacy associated with Amaravati capital development, irregularities in the DSC process, TTD ghee tenders, and other matters of public importance bringing to light appropriate evidence of rampant corruption, to the restriction of critical content online, a disturbing pattern is emerging.

We will challenge these unfair actions through every legal and constitutional avenue. No intimidation, censorship, or misuse of institutions can silence the voice of the people. We remain committed to holding those in power accountable and defending the fundamental right to freedom of speech and expression.

We demand the immediate restoration of the official page in the interest of democracy and to uphold the constitutional spirit.
