Immunology labs all over the world study T cell responses as part of their research. They have specialized equipment and pro scientists, collect + track data more detailed than kind of test you’re referring to.

They had persistent activation of immune system, not reported deficiency to other pathogens. The lead author of the paper has repeatedly asked for it not to be misunderstood out of context.
