📢📢📢Scoop: Vice President Harris will meet on Tuesday with families of Americans taken hostage by Hamas on October 7. A White House official told me Harris will express her continued support for these families and the hostages and will provide an update on our Administration’s efforts to secure the release of all hostages and an immediate ceasefire.

Harris previously met with families of Americans taken hostage on October 27 at the State Department. She has subsequently spoken to families of American hostages who were released last year, and the family of Itay Chen, following the announcement that he is believed to been killed on October 7.

The family members of the American hostages met on Monday with National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan who stressed the Administration is doing all it can to advance a deal that the US, Israel, Qatar, and Egypt have agreed to.

According to a statement by the families they left the meeting hopeful that this round of negotiations will result in the release of hostages.
