You were not put on this planet to have an opinion on the Kelly Clarkson vs. Brooklyn toy shop debacle. You just weren't. You need to call your mother, take up Spanish, cook dinner for your friends, go for a walk, meditate on your sins
@jzux This woman really acting like she just fell out of a coconut tree instead of existing in the context of all in which she lives and what came before her smh
The U.S. is a high gross income, low net living standard country. It pays high wages and then takes them back through privatized costs that other high-income countries socialize. The working class here is more indebted, more precarious, and more alone.
we’ve basically entered capitalism 2. all “competition” is over and the government mandated that all of trump worlds personal friends should run the entire world
Everyone wants *their* child to go to a good school but nobody wants to do the hard work of making sure that *every* child goes to a good school. You cannot be a champion for education and be against public education. We are the public.
Avi Lewis: "The 407 in Ontario privatized under Mike Harris in the 90s. The government made about a billion and a half dollars first sold it, that asset is worth $40 billion now, and they've had decades of profits. Oh, and it's another 70 years left in the long-term lease."
29s in: "at a time when investors are demanding to be fully compensated for risk"
This is completely UNHINGED. If you're fully compensated for risk, THERE'S NO RISK.
WE always hear that investors take risks, that's why they get the rewards.
We are taking the risk(1/?)

Our airports are public assets, not investment opportunities to be handed over to private interests.
Mark Carney can call it a “concession,” but private investors don’t put billions into Pearson out of generosity—they expect billions back.
Canadians deserve to know: who will ultimately pay for those profits, and what will this mean for workers, travellers and airport fees?
Privatizing airports is only the start, they are very open about the fact that Canada Post and healthcare are next. When Trump is gone Canadians will wake up realizing the generational damage this Conservative PM has done and it will be too late to do anything about it.
Selling off the airports is a dumb idea. It’s going to be like the 407.
Canadians will need to pay an extra $100 or whatever when we take a flight. Some foreign company like Ferrovial will pocket our money.
