Now that we're soon running out of 32-bit namespace for transfer IDs at @Wise, the engineers are annoyed with me choosing int over long when I wrote the first lines of code in 2010.
But why don't they appreciate the $17 of savings in storage cost over years!? 🤷
On a $1000 invoice at today's exchange rates, I'd receive €784.39 from PayPal or €850.34 from @Wise. That's a €66 difference and a total gut punch.
In the past, I've told clients I'd pay any wire or transfer fees if they swapped payment method. They've all said yes.
When the stock markets are ripping, then so does my @Wise current account with the Stocks feature.
Ofc in the months when markets go down I will lose money. Therefore money is at risk with Stocks.
@VilleAroS@Wise Depends on where your account is registered. It's definitely available in Suomi. Go to any currency balance and look under "options" to switch it on.
Quarterly earnings: customer edition
Our financial year ended with March and we reported metrics for the final quarter. But how does it look from the customers' perspective?
People and small businesses hold $40 billion on their Wise accounts and earned circa $528 million from their holdings in the last 12 months. What's the problem that we're fixing?
Money sitting on your everyday spending account at a bank usually earns you nothing, yet your bank earns risk-free benchmark interest from the central bank or the government. From your money!
Enter Wise Assets. An Interest feature to bypass the bank and you to get interest from government bonds and assets guaranteed by those.
And the Stocks feature for those of us, who believe that stock markets are the best store of value on average over the long term and are willing to put their capital at risk.
@ToastTraveller Rly? From camera and mixed mode where it's not all on the bill but a mixed mode, where the amount is inferred from a forwarded screenshot and recipient in text. I believe it when I see it (demo).
