@MaxAbrahms it’s the other way around, the reason of the deadlock today can be traced back to who caused that situation of US stance re SDF since 2024 to ensure the then status quo remained intact , which clearly won’t and the likely result soon will be “ big party in the desert ” part 10.
@MaxAbrahms Clearly those who want to keep the status quo in Iran were the ones who orchestrated the ongoing fiasco for Kurds in syria including last January 2026 to arrive at the current wary moment for Kurds in Iran and the region
@PollaGarmiany You’d always be bullied by your cousins to speak their accent anyways🤣 i spent university w friends from Afrin, then4 years in Bakûr,4years in Başûr and dealing with many from Rojhelat then moved abroad, when i speak today; like most Kurds; my Kurdish is mix of all of the above🤣
@PollaGarmiany populations movements towards Bakûr amd Başûr played a major role in this, all things aside , one of funny issues is the sub-dialects clashes in same region; we have Aşîtî-Xerbî accents feud inside Qamishlo city which I could only survive for having a parent from each🤣
@PollaGarmiany i agree and it stems from not having unified standard Kurdish alphabet and language courses and dictionary; however, due to many reasons Qamishlo today is probably majority Kurmanji speaking city with highest % of Kurds who speak Sorani per capita, even more than Duhok :D
@PollaGarmiany Man it’s one of the closest dialects to the standardized Kurmanji version, however sub accents within it vary from district to district within Qamishlo city itself, rest assured you’d be fine in Qamishlo even if you’d only be speaking Sorani 😀
@sfrantzman its easy to forget that such an attack was stopped by Kurdish security forces in minutes with 0 fatalities, while elsewhere you'd see lack of response by security forces which might take weeks because"it's hard to manage security easily" same accounts would be in deafening silence
@sfrantzman It's a message of hope for peace and defiance against tyranny across the region, especially with less scrutiny for the celebrations this year, but the same is not guaranteed for next year's Newroz, unfortunately.
2/2:
Solidarity to all journalists and public groups and individuals who suffer from these actions that tighten the already shrinking public liberties and freedom of expression space across Syria and the region. @Delilsouleman
1/2:Ending work permits for media outlets and journalists in #Northeast#Syria is an unwelcome and negative indicator, it can only be understood as a tendency by the local authority to monopolise public space and direct #journalism to what only serves its benefit.
The recruitment of #Syria'n mercenaries for combat in foreign conflicts has been widely reported in international media https://t.co/nmVpNiFRtb via @sjac_info thanks to @Mohammad_Syria and @BassamAlahmed for this great report
#Iran DepFM Araghchi (after the meeting of Joint Commission): We can now say that we’ve reached to the framework & structure of an agreement. The main text & annexes have been prepared. However the talks over the draft have not ended. There are differences over some key issues.
