Absolutely wild article. I genuinely do not understand how anyone today could set up a riverside camp without an evacuation plan.

A big takeaway was what really hit me in the first hand accounts. They are the first ones I have seen that clearly break the idea that the camp was asleep or unaware of the warnings or lacked cell service. Those girls and counselors were awake and would’ve recognized how dire the situation was before they were swept away at Camp Mystic. Absolutely horrific.

Wonderful piece of storytelling from @nytimes. I am still SO ANGRY about this tragedy. It was a floodplain with HISTORY. The incompetence of the leadership at this camp cannot be overstated. Unavoidable tragedies do happen.. This was not one of them. https://t.co/ra3aFvOPfX

I got chipotle and i told the girl making my bowl I wanted extra cheese and she literally piled it on to the point the lid barely fit from the sheer volume of cheese, so i said “i think im in love with you, would you like to hold my hand” and she gave me my entire meal for free

Autistic rizz strikes again

Stunning.

This has to be some of the best footage of a plane emerging into the centre of a hurricane I’ve ever seen.

Meteorologically, Melissa is absolutely textbook.

Stop sharing that fucking video of Charlie Kirk. It’s horrific. His family doesn’t deserve that. Just at a total loss for words.

the way the music fades into red when bellyconrad see each other at cousins … because EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE FADES OUT WHEN CONRAD IS AROUND BELLY. FOR BELLY, CONRAD IS THE SUN AND WHEN THE SUN COMES OUT THE STARS DISAPPEAR

No one’s gonna believe him at the dog park

There are students who were freshman at Stoneman Douglas High School during the shooting that are now Seniors at Florida State University experiencing another mass school shooting 7 years later.

Thoughts and prayers are not working, folks. They never did.

Another shooting at Florida State University is the proof of this.

[T-Pain @TPAIN]

Omg I can’t believe it, they actually changed the name on the maps

This has been an absolutely devastating way to start my 2025 New Year. I never anticipated having to report on such a horrific and tragic event, especially on New Year’s Day.

🚨 #BREAKING: The Florida man who abandoned and chained his dog to a fence just prior to Hurricane Milton has been ARRESTED, Gov. Ron DeSantis says

GREAT news! 🔥

A video of the dog, now named Trooper, went viral last week, and he’s now been adopted.

The man was charged with FELONY animal cruelty, and faces years in prison.

THANK YOU, @GovRonDeSantis and Florida Highway Patrol!

[Mark Mandale @cumbrianbluess]

OMG OMG!!!! Look at that a shooting star, what a shot!!!! #auroa #northernlights

[Ryan Bass @Ry_Bass]

Here’s some drone video we shot giving you a look at the extensive damage to the roof and the inside of Tropicana Field, the home of @RaysBaseball.

[Ron DeSantis @GovRonDeSantis]

Thank you, @FHPTampa.

It is cruel for anyone to leave a dog tied to a post in the middle of an oncoming storm. FL will hold anyone who mistreats pets accountable.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE😭

[FHP Tampa @FHPTampa]

FHP Troopers rescued a dog left tied to a pole on I-75 near Bruce B Downs Blvd this morning. Do NOT do this to your pets please…

🚨#BREAKING: Mutiple tornados are being reported as one can be seen crossing west I-75

📌#Miccosukee | #Florida

Watch as traffic cameras on I-75 near Miccosukee, Florida, capture a dramatic scene of a tornado crossing the highway, part of the severe weather associated with Hurricane Milton. So far, two large tornadoes have been confirmed, with multiple other tornadoes spawning throughout the region. A tornado outbreak could develop this afternoon as Hurricane Milton moves closer to the Florida coastline, bringing dangerous conditions. Emergency crews are on high alert as the storm’s outer bands continue to intensify

[Sassafrass84 @Sassafrass_84]

He is spot on. You can't evacuate a whole state over a category 5. Where are they going to go? It's easier to sit there and judge those in Florida when you're not exposed to any danger.
