Numerous detainees were transported to undisclosed locations as part of campaign of coercion by the ruling Oromo Prosperity Party regime with involvement of Berhanu Adelo, Chief Commissioner of the state-funded Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC).
According to the latest information received by AAA, political prisoners transferred to different locations have subsequently faced harsh and inhumane conditions.
As of October 4th, detention circumstances of 23 high-profile detainees were described including detention sites and conditions across Kilinto, Kaliti and Aba-Samuel Prisons in Addis-Ababa City.
The detention circumstances of six detainees could not be identified, and AAA could not independently verify detention circumstances.

📍Ethiopia | In conflict-affected areas, timely access to medical care can make all the difference, sometimes even between life and death.
Residents of Agita, North Gojjam, in the Amhara region, share what access to essential medicines means for them, following our donation of medical supplies to local health facilities.
The healthcare system in Amhara hasn't just been damaged;it has been systematically gutted.
•The Scale: 967 health facilities pillaged or damaged, building on the initial destruction of 81 hospitals and 592 primary health centers.
•The Lifeline Lost: 124+ emergency ambulances seized or destroyed, cutting off rural emergency referrals.
•The Structural Toll: 91.2% of assessed health centers sustained direct building damage; 83.2% lost all patient records and diagnostic hardware.
•The Reality Today: Regional healthcare capacity has crashed from ~95% down to under 30%. Fewer than 3% of damaged facilities have been fully restored.

Don’t be a tool for propaganda‼️
Too much emotional, selective propaganda on both sides is drowning out the suffering of the Amhara people.
We need truth from the ground: civilian deaths, displacement, abuses, destroyed homes and institutions, insecurity, trauma, and economic hardship.
Hold this genocidal government accountable—but journalists who claim to speak for Amhara must also be accountable when they celebrate military “victories” while ignoring the civilians paying the price.
If you stand with Amhara, report what Amhara people are living through—not just what armies claim to have achieved.
People before propaganda. Truth before agendas.

The war never stopped. The silence did.
For years, Amhara civilians have endured ongoing killing, displacement, and destruction while the world looked away. A new headline cannot erase years of persistent suffering.

🇪🇹 Alongside the EU and its Member States, Belgium is alarmed by the rising violence in Ethiopia. De-escalation, civilian protection, humanitarian access, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, and non-interference are urgent necessities. Only dialogue and diplomacy can lead to peace.

The suffering and sacrifices of Amharas in this ongoing war cannot be ignored or erased.

It is deeply frustrating to watch four full years of conflict and relentless suffering in the Amhara people brushed under the rug while media outlets rely on sanitized political spin and recycle narratives about a "new war" starting.
The continuous sacrifices of our brothers, the agony of displaced families, and the true scale of this crisis are getting buried beneath this press coverage. Our duty is to reclaim the narrative, stand up for Amhara interests above all else, and turn this moment around. Now that global attention has returned to northern Ethiopia, we must take real action: demand immediate humanitarian aid, expose the media silence, and make the suffering and sacrifices of our people impossible to ignore.
Let’s make sure the truth can't be ignored: share credible footage, post verified reports, and tag #TheWarNeverLeftAmhara to amplify our people's voices and demand immediate humanitarian aid. Every verified post breaks the silence and ensures our history is written by us.
