Fanatism and repressive Politics in Rwanda

In the realm of #repressive regimes, fanatism reigns and public perception is systematically manipulated. Digital Age has transformed the landscape of #propaganda. with social media influencers, viral #misinformation, #fake news and #disinformation by fanatics exponentially spread and none is exempt from their reach. Like all fanatics around the world, #RPF fanatics' #ideology is in believing that only #RPFInkotanyi's opinions hold value. #Authoritarian regimes and #Fanatics act as #brainwashed #bots and resort to #intimidation, #aggression, #violence, #discrimination, #beatings, #kidnappings, #disappearances, #arbitrary #detention, #staged #accidents and #killings (#HRW2020:2024). #Journalists, #politicians, real, #suspected or #perceived #critics, opponent or dissent, beware! Raise your voice against such regimes and you are doomed to be silenced.
Even professionals chose to stay silent given the consequences #oppose any #RwandaGovernment #narrative. #Genocide related #accusations come in and it is the #endgame. Such #defamatory tactics are used and blessed. None and no institution take a stand against the #propagandists, everyone lives in fear. #Rwanda, we never learn from history.

Silenced beyond borders: Critics of Rwanda face exclusion at Home and Abroad—————————————

@BBadrama was recently denied entry to a concert by @RutiJoel in Indiana, United States, despite having purchased a ticket and traveling across four states to attend. Upon arrival, he was refused access, refunded, and asked to leave the venue, reportedly due to his critical views of the government of Rwanda. He later described the experience as humiliating, saying he was treated “like a criminal.”

This incident is not isolated. In March 2025, Stijn Vercruysse, a reporter for @vrtnws was prevented from traveling to Rwanda, where he was scheduled to cover the UCI Cycling World Championships.

Taken together, these cases reinforce ongoing concerns that political alignment particularly perceived support for the ruling @rpfinkotanyi can influence access, participation, and freedom of expression for those connected to Rwanda, both domestically and abroad.

The response from @RwandaInUSA below is a work of fiction. The @PaulKagame regime is skilled at lying and then playing the victim when caught committing a crime. In this case, it concerns a possible bugging, assassination, or intimidation attempt against the First Lady of the DRC (@DeniseNyakeru)
while on United States soil.

The calm picture the #Kagame regime is trying to paint is in stark contrast to the violent struggle that reportedly took place when a suspected Rwandan agent was found outside the First Lady’s hotel room attempting to gain entry. The regime’s alleged hit team and alleged kill list is something that even Rwandan opposition leaders in exile live in fear of every day. Below is a short list of Rwandan opposition leaders reported assassinated:

Patrick Karegeya was strangled in his South African hotel room in 2013

Seth Sendashonga was shot in 1998

Andre Kagwa Rwisereka was found nearly decapitated in 2010

Syldio Dusabumuremyi was stabbed in 2019

Seif Bamporiki was shot in 2021.

The @realDonaldTrump should understand that Kagame operates with unchecked power, and that those he perceives as problems are dealt with decisively. It does not matter whether the target is a pro-democracy activist or the First Lady of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Nos discussions ont porté sur la situation des femmes et des jeunes filles en République Démocratique du Congo, en particulier dans les zones en conflit, où les violences sexuelles restent une préoccupation majeure.

J’ai réaffirmé notre engagement à renforcer leur protection, à lutter contre l’impunité et à promouvoir le rôle des femmes dans la construction de la paix. Tant que le corps des femmes sera utilisé comme arme de guerre, la paix restera hors de portée.

Parce que certaines causes sont trop justes pour être ralenties, plus que jamais, je reste debout et engagée pour faire avancer ce combat essentiel.

◾Les sanctions américaines peuvent affecter :

▪️logistique
▪️coopération militaire

👉 Toute interaction avec une armée sanctionnée peut devenir sensible pour l’#ONU et ses partenaires.

🔹 c) Pression géopolitique sur les opérations de paix

▪️Les sanctions marquent une rupture majeure USA–Rwanda
▪️Or : 👉 les opérations de maintien de la paix dépendent fortement des équilibres politiques internationaux

➡️ Résultat :

▪️ajustements discrets possibles dans certaines missions (dont MINUSCA)
