As people use AI assistants to do shopping for them and then taking a cut of every sale, it's going to increase and inflate the costs of everything that we buy the same way DoorDash and Uber Eats have essentially forced restaurants to increase the cost of ordering food

@MishaalRahman Ah, you work for Google. I was wondering how that was possible because I've been trying to do it with the Bandcamp player that I made, Meedwell, but I couldn't find a way to make it more expressive.

@Itsfoss It's going to be at least 1-2 generations before we realize, as a society, what happens when we no longer have experts who truly understand the fundamentals of their field and how just being able to get the answer/output using a tool like AI isn't good enough.

I don't do Amazon either, but it's for different reasons:

- I don't like the way that they treat their employees in the warehouses or their drivers.
- I don't like the way they squeeze small business owners, forcing them to sell on their website cheaper than anywhere else including their own sites.
- I don't like their invasive privacy policies.
- I don't like their work with Project Nimbus.
- I don't like the anti-union efforts.
- I don't like how they keep bumping up prices on Prime and then adding fees to get rid of ads.

I get the point you're making though, I just disagree. Not to mention that when people share their health information with ChatGPT, it's not protected by HIPAA unless they're on some enterprise plan or specific business arrangement agreement that's signed ahead of time.

Be mindful of changes in language surrounding hot issues that aren't organic over time. This forced shift of language by the same people who have the most to profit is meant to change the way the rest of us -think- about it.
