We've kicked off the final workshop of #CRTH 2025! This week we've gathered a cohort of 20 young hematologists to undertake Clinical Research Training in Hematology in Madrid. Over four days, they will hear from leading experts, discussing key topics shaping the future of clinical trials.

A few topics discussed today:
📌Patient involvement in trial design and grant applications
📌Research ethics and responsible trial conduct
📌Trial design for non-malignant hematological disorders

Interested to join CRTH 2026? Applications are now open until September 16th. Don't miss out! 👉 https://t.co/db9wtwlAhW

As William Waldegrave wrote about his anti-EU colleagues before Brexit happened:

"[They] will be bereft if we ever leave that convenient recipient of blame; for them, all-powerful external enemies fill a vital psychological need."

Really enjoying dinner conversation tonight revolving around whether a lettuce will last longer than Truss. What about a banana? Potato?

[Kate Orf @kate_orf]

@ecmorris You missed out run club

[Kate Orf @kate_orf]

@StanwayGeorgia Love this. I wasn’t allowed to play football at primary school and had to play netball instead (objectively the world’s most boring sport).

[Kate Orf @kate_orf]

What a great day for women’s sport. From Tour de France Femmes to England bringing it home! Women’s football wasn’t on TV when I was growing up, loving this. #Lionesses

We are looking for a Post Doc with gene editing experience to help develop novel gene therapies for patients with immunodeficiency. Based in a fun, lively group @iit_ucl, working with @ecmorris, @Siobhan13592648 and Prof Claire Booth.

Thanks all, will try suggestions!

I was just told I need a third primary dose of the COVID vaccine. This guidance was published in September! The booking website won’t let me make an appointment as I’ve ‘had all doses I need’. I’m a doctor doing a PhD in immunology and can’t work this out - it needs to be easier.
