Our review on what we’ve learned about SARS-CoV-2 epidemiology and what questions remain to be answered is out today in @ScienceMagazine! Written with @m_a_martin R.Antia @B_Lopman and @nataliexdean https://t.co/ODwUqJLMzs
As announced in yesterday's seminar, @VignuzziLab is packing up its pipettes and taking on a new continent! As of September 2022, Vignuzzi Lab Asia will open its doors at A*Star Infectious Disease Labs in beautiful Singapore!
More experts agree with @UofIllinois' @_chris_brooke and @rlsdvm_epivet that saliva samples catch COVID-19 virus earlier than nasal. That's one of the reasons why our covidSHIELD test identifies positives & can help slow virus spread. https://t.co/2h93uCwxRy
My hypothesis: #Omicron Spike binds ACE2 so well, infections start exclusively in the upper airways. Cell death and debris from those initial infections induce interferon in the lungs, providing greater protection than seen for other VOCs. Still can be a dangerous virus though.
This Thursday at 6 pm, @_chris_brooke will be a moderator for the town hall. Ask the experts about the COVID-19 vaccines! Register at https://t.co/mVz7Yp976A.

Fascinating and high-tech investigation of a fishing vessel COVID outbreak https://t.co/Yif0LkAF1x with hints of seroprotection, and extremely high attack rate ~85%. Two critical findings at least, from well-done outbreak epidemiology. T cells didn't protect them from infection.

A very nicely written summary on what is known about influenza virus defective interfering particles and where the field is heading. Great title as well. By @biofadialnaji & @_chris_brooke
