6 years ago COVID-19 exposed the vulnerabilities of #Tunisia's health system. Today, the system is stronger, more connected, & more equitable. New blog on our partnership from #Maghreb Dir. Ahmadou Moustapha Ndiaye & Minister of Health Mustapha Ferjani: https://t.co/oo492EKftk
A déjà-vu moment: just as in June, the US was meant to hold a fresh round of talks with Iran. Instead, it struck hard. Whether Trump is yielding to Israel’s demands or acting alone, war - especially in the Gulf - is no promenade.
Now, Trump warns he’ll unleash a force Iranians have never seen before. Clearly, his main aim is to topple the regime - an intolerant one, I might add. But who cares now about reforms, democracy, and all the lofty values and principles many - including myself - have begun to strongly doubt in practice? Not that it’s unwelcome, but not that way. Not to come through others’ guns. And by the way, can we truly abide by the will of a conservative US ruler, blindly backing a horde of zealots in Israel? Yet dictators have always had shares - huge shares, indeed - in bringing such chaos.
That aside, I believe everything lies buried in Gaza, and what remains is eroded in the West Bank. Iran, odd as it may sound, is merely a cutaway in the frame - kind of collateral damage. Germany’s chancellor - time and again - has stressed that Iran must stop striking deep inside Israel. The same stance his predecessor voiced in Gaza, amid a livestreamed genocide. A rule-based order, already fragile, is collapsing. It’s crystal clear!
The murderous IDF just bombed and killed three more of our dear colleagues in Gaza: Dr. Basel Mehdi (ObGyn), Dr. Hammam Ellouh (kidney specialist) and Dr. Raed Mahdi (ObGyn).
The killing was in a private maternity clinic and at home. At least 20 other family members killed.
We honor their courage and sumud.
We deplore their coward killers.
We promise to carry our brave colleagues’ torch forward.

People in Gaza are dying in the darkness.
This unthinkable horror cannot be undone — and history will not forgive those who refused to treat Israeli and Palestinian lives with equal worth.
Please, we need a ceasefire, now.

After an airstrike on Jenin refugee camp on the morning of 25 October, we received multiple critically injured patients at Jenin hospital, in the West Bank, #Palestine, where our doctors provided lifesaving medical care.
Doctors Without Borders calls for immediate ceasefire in Gaza
People who are wounded and sick must be able to receive medical care, and medical facilities and personnel must be protected and respected.

Blackout in #Gaza as #Israel continues to bombing. They cut off all forms of communication. No internet or phone line is working.
If what we had seen was permitted before the entire world's eyes, imagine the horror of what's being done now.
Genocide.
Israel's blocking of most humanitarian aid to the deeply needy civilian population of Gaza is a war crimes. It is collective punishment, not a targeted attack on Hamas militants.
