Look up what the word professors meant in the early 1800’s. He was talking about those who created, by man not God, the creeds who professed them to the church. Many Catholic priest before the creeds believed a very Mormon type of belief of the Godhead and that man could become as God. That the creeds changed it is the corruption Christ was speaking to Joseph about.

My 12 year old grandson has never been taken to church. For the past 4 years he started telling him mom that he wanted to go to church and wanted to be baptized. Three weeks ago Missionaries were walking down his street In Herriman Utah and introduced themselves while he was playing basketball. He told them I know, I’m thinking of getting baptized. Yesterday my wife and I flew back to Florida from Utah. His other grandfather and I gave the talks at his baptism.
@RandomLDS I taught about 700 traditional christians on my The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints mission. Not one of them said they believed the Creed their church taught. Most said they believed the God Head to be three separate individual beings.
