I'd like to apologize to the @VancouverPD for my previous tweets after seeing this video.
I now understand the need for enforcement at this intersection because - wait a minute those aren't bikes
A person caught excessively speeding and facing basically zero consequences kept speeding? "Go figure" indeed!
(And why is 90 in a 50 not excessive??)
This is what we mean when we say road violence is predictable and preventable.
The vast majority of collisions where drivers hit pedestrians happen at intersections. Stop victim blaming and do your jobs. Or better yet, support automated enforcement.
Hi Peter, please see our commentary on a recent incident where a cyclist took the entire lane and paid the price.
And let us know if we can work together to make bikeways safer! We have many ideas

I've asked for information about why compacted gravel instead of a smooth, hard surface has been used on this by-pass on a high-traffic route & which could be in place for years. I'm concerned about safety & accessibility for users, especially of wheelchairs & mobility scooters.
Congratulations to Mayor Sim + Council…you must feel so proud. 🙄
VSB is slashing wages. Bus drivers & attendants who help disabled kids were recently told their pay is being cut by as much as 23%

@JDVance Vice President Vance — I was glad to see you questioning why it was in USA interest to do bombing. But in the quoted texts you seem to be celebrating the death of civilians. How do you square that with your Christian faith?
When @KenSimCity , @Trev_Ford_North and @Vote4ABC removed the bike lane in Stanley Park, a study showed that vehicle speeds increased dramatically. We were very outspoken about this. The decisions by our leaders to make our streets more dangerous have consequences.
I've been scaling back my Twitter use for a while now.
I still lurk and post occasionally, but not nearly at the volume that I used to. And that won't change.
I have, however, joined the other site and we'll see how it goes. You can follow me there: https://t.co/ra0WZAd7cU
We know politicians want to see more praise, but remember that we are activists, not cheerleaders. We'll celebrate wins when they come (see the massively popular bipartisan bus lane motion this summer), but the facts are that in sum, the past 2 years have been bleak.
Halloween is off-the-charts the worst day of the year for children being hit and killed by drivers. If you can avoid driving this evening, please do. If you must, take extra care. Skip the Uber Eats delivery tonight. Let's make sure it's a safe one for the kids.
We’ve got some safety tips to share with the law enforcement in your life so they can help ensure drivers don’t crash into kids who are trick-or-treating.
We hope this is the one time a PSA is actually effective.
BIZARRE. A year ago, B.C. Conservative candidate for #SurreyCloverdale@ElenoreSturko was defending SOGI. She said “as a parent, & member of the LGBT community” it was important to her that misinformation be corrected.
THIS WEEK, SHE’S THE ONE SPREADING MISINFORMATION ABOUT SOGI 👉 The graphic novels she strangely posted on this platform with no context or explanation (see below) are NOT part of the SOGI toolkit for K-12 schools. They are NOT being used by teachers to “sexualize children.”
SOGI stands for sexual orientation and gender identity. Note: we ALL have a sexual orientation and gender identity. SOGI 123 is a program that provides public resources on policies, inclusive strategies, and teaching content designed to reduce bullying and foster respect and inclusion for all students.
➡️ A new report out of UBC finds it has been effective in reducing violence and discrimination, even for heterosexual students.
⭐️ YES, I’m a dad — and yes, I DO want my kids to learn about respect and inclusion. No, I’m not worried SOGI will sexualize them … you know what kids can find on the Internet right? I’d much rather they receive evidence-informed content from trained educators. ⭐️
@Conservative_BC wants you to think SOGI is “dangerous activist ideology.” It’s not. As noted by a group of doctors in Northern B.C. this week, it’s an important resource that helps lower rates of suicide and mental health challenges in youth.
The screenshots posted here by Elenore (which I’ve obscured to avoid X moderation) are from graphic novels/memoirs by queer authors. AGAIN, THEY ARE NOT PART OF SOGI. This lie is being spread by anti-LGBTQ conspiracy theorists to incite anger and score votes.
WHY IS ELENORE PARTICIPATING IN THIS ATTACK ON GAY & TRANS KIDS?
So disappointing. She knows better than this ☹️
