When a government responds to overwhelming public support for the opposition by banning political rallies instead of respecting the democratic process, it should alarm everyone.

The first and second videos were taken on October 30, 2025—the second day of the protests.

The young men in those videos were not protesters. They were simply watching football in local cafés when police, acting under orders from Samia Suluhu stormed in and ordered the boys to lie face down on the ground. They complied.

Then, one by one, they were shot.

Their only “crime” was being young men in the wrong place at the wrong time. The purpose of these killings was terror. It was a calculated attempt to instill fear across the entire country and send a message that no one was safe.

The third and fourth videos were taken on the third day of the protests, as the violence and crackdown continued.
