@catiehornsby Ss picked orders for their drinks at random. Baristas used the actual beverage card on a Google Doc I created that removed key numbers to ingredients By using ratio tables/equivalent ratios, Ss worked with baristas to complete the table to find missing numbers for their order.
Starbucks + Ratios for the WIN! So many uses of equivalent ratios & tables for students to calculate the ACTUAL amount of ingredients for drinks. A HUGE shoutout to @Starbucks of Tullahoma for donating aprons and cups for our Ss to use! @WMS_BOBCATS@TCSPublic#iteachmath#mtbos
@matthewlawsontn Parentheses first (2+2), then order of ops rule says if youโre left with division and multiplication, work it left to right, whichever comes first. 8/2 = 4 x 4 = 16.
@MonaBethMontoye@gimkit Yes, @kvking86 uses it with her Ss and they love it. Think of as a mix of Quizlet & Kahoot. And the best part is that it was developed by a HS student!
A2 @gimkit has been a game changer in the classroom. My students are 100% engaged every time they play. I use it to practice multiplication facts, and I've seen my Ss improve so much! Definitely check this out! #tcseduchat
@tng8torgirl@WODBMath That and using anything @mashupmath. I usually start every Friday off with these two as bellringers. Ss love it and ask for more!
A3 My Ss love @WODBMath! It literally takes about 2 minutes to to pull up an image on the screen and provides Ss with so much value and in-depth conversations about MATH! #tcseduchat#iteachmath
A4: This one is tough...always a moving target! I try and have enrichment for some, support looping for others, and always looking for ways for each learner to master the learning goal
That went FAST! Thank you to everyone who participated in today's #tcseduchat. Hopefully this is something that we can build upon. We are all in this TOGETHER!
A4: PL to me means many things. Ss being able to choose how they show mastery. Ss working on topics they are interested in, and having flexibility to work at their own pace. In other words, #studentvoice. #tcseduchat
