Thank you to all the organizers in Georgia who got in good trouble, the necessary trouble, to redeem the soul of America. Seeing your state forever blue on the map of 2020, a year where a Georgia hero went home and a racist tyrant needed to be defeated, is sweet justice.
Please retweet if your home or office wasn't searched today by the Federal Bureau of Investigation pursuant to a warrant issued by a federal judge upon a showing of probable cause.
The challenge for Democrats in the midterms is to make it clear that Roe is on the ballot just as it was last night in Kansas. Here in Georgia, for instance, a Kemp win for governor ensures abortion will be ended; an Abrams win ensures (some) choice will be preserved. #gapol
As heartbroken as I am, as pissed off as I am, I refuse to be silent. I refuse to give up. Women across this country are going to rise up like you’ve never seen. If you thought we were a lot before, just wait.
It is important that so many employers are stating they will cover the cost of travel for employees in states with bans. But talk about a loss of privacy. How fucked up is it that women will now have to file expense reports to their colleagues for their abortion?
These guys are just politicians. The Constitution to them is just a fun tool to help them impose their political views on the entire country. The implausible inconsistency of the guns and abortion rulings is both sickening and revealing.
I suspect it would be good politics. But that’s secondary to the actual need. Carve out the filibuster to pass sensible gun laws, enshrine Roe and protect elections. The filibuster can still live but children, women and our democracy don’t have to die. It’s the only path.
