Alberta born, U of A grad, worked in public and private sectors, a quarter-century in the attractions sector of the tourism industry and active in Rotary.
@MadTyAgain Mr. Eby has emulated Ontario policies to such an extent that B.C. with its 6 million people is now saddled with the same debt load as Ontario's 16 million citizens.
@GeoffRuss3 So much like a store-owner who puts a big sign in his front window "Workers of the World Unite". It implies that all expressions of non-conformity are to be eliminated. It is ideology, separate from reality, that sooner or later alienates itself from the social movement itself.
@JayGenXer Increasingly ingrained ideology reaches a tipping point for adherents when they lose touch with reality. Leaders, even those in the top echelons of centralized governments with significant power, become simple executors of "the system's" ideologies.
@bcndp Yet the NDP has been silent on a number of occasions. One of the latest: just 2 weeks before snap election the NDP committed to passing title to over 400 parcels of Crown land to First Nations, and craft a law to limit compensation to forest companies for loss of logging rights.
@GasPriceWizard "The system's" ideology offers a world of appearances striving to have them pass as reality. A key illusion is acceptance ultimately brings liberation. In reality it is compete degradation of the individual. (From former Czech president's 1978 book analyzing the U.S.S.R.)
@TNorrisBC Guess you were a Liberal voter as that type of unwarranted and inexcusable broad-brush voter critique is so much like that of Justin Trudeau.
@FriendsOScience@ABDanielleSmith@PremierScottMoe@taxpayerDOTcom Long story short: Mr. Carney continues his net zero campaign. GFASNZ that he started in the U.K. accumulated some $130T. The scheme collapsed.
Carney' parallel course: de-risking investments in green energy, using Canadian pension funds to shock-absorb all liability and costs.
@unionwill In 2024 the budget in support of $10 per day daycare was $1.9 billion. Qualified spaces numbered in the hundreds in the face of demand for thousands.
@LombardiMike@Dave_Eby@bcndp@10aDayPlan@sharongregson The 2024 budget item to support $10 a day daycare in BC was $1.9 billion, a good portion of which came from the federal level. Given BC's indebtedness is now the same as that of Ontario, the plan is unaffordable.
@BowinnMa Much the like the promise of $1000 per voter if the party was re-elected that was quickly dropped, this promise, together with the others, will 'disappear' when the budget advisers let it be known that "the cupboard is bare". BC's debt matches Ontario, with a third of taxpayers.
@calie_campbell Still emulating Mr. Carney, spending even greater sums of taxpayer monies to solve the problems these governments created. Worth repeating that 6 million BC'rs now have the same debt load as 16 million Ontario residents.
@amansinghbcndp Indeed, protect the BC public healthcare system, a bureaucratic filled black hole (in which the system counts, outcomes irrelevant) notorious for being a most costly and increasingly scarce "free" health care.
@moneytalkstweet Envy was once considered to be one of the seven deadly sins before it became one of the most admired virtues under its new name, "social justice." {Sowell}
@braedencaley@MarkJCarney Mounting evidence suggests that Mr. Carney's in-his-bones commitment is to restructure Canada so as to benefit Brookfield, and thereby his own fortune(s). De-risking green investments, for example, using Canadian pension funds, puts taxpayers at considerable risk for decades.
@rita_rewerts The public sector has an insatiable appetite for the rightful earnings of others. Also increasingly restrictive as to how rightful earnings are spent/allocated. It is a trend you have not yet recognized. Gaining an understanding is already a bit late in this 'chess game'.
