HS pitchers…
Spend this fall on significantly lowering your 60 time while increasing your max vertical. Explosive movement in almost every instance results in velo gains.
Add a consistent shoulder-care routine and core strengthening program. Keep the arm moving with light catch a couple times a week, gradually working out to 75–90 feet as appropriate. Get in the weight room. Build the engine without constantly testing the arm.
Then, when the time is right, ramp back up.
Get faster. Get stronger. Get more explosive.
If you don’t see an increase in velo next spring, I’ll delete my account. 👊🏼
A guy bought a Samsung TV for $1,600.He's owned it for 2 years.
He uses it for Netflix and YouTube. That's it.
His neighbor a tech consultant who specializes in home entertainment systems came over to watch a fight, looked at the screen, and said:
"You don't own a TV. You own 5 devices pretending to be a TV. You have a private cinema that's running in showroom mode. You have a free cable replacement with 750+ live channels you've never opened. You have a gaming console that plays Xbox games without an Xbox. You have a smart home command center that controls every connected device in your house. And you have a digital art gallery that turns your screen into a framed painting when you're not watching. You're using 1 of the 5. The other 4 have been sitting behind your home screen for 2 years fully functional, fully included, completely untouched."
"Samsung doesn't sell TVs anymore. They sell computers that happen to have a big screen. Most owners plug them in, open Netflix, and use a $1,600 computer as a $200 streaming stick for the rest of its life."
Here are the 5 devices hiding inside your Samsung TV and how to unlock each one:

6 Non-Negotiable Upper Body Lifts for Pitchers 💪🔥
1. Shoulder IR Eccentric
2. Full ROM Pull-Up
3. Parallette Push-Up
4. Cork Screw Row
5. Landmine Press
6. Single-Arm Bicep Eccentric
More on each below ⬇️
1. Shoulder IR Eccentric
Trains the posterior capsule to decelerate the arm as it turns into internal rotation. Strong brakes here mean your body lets you throw harder without holding back.
Accumulate a full minute of eccentric work per set. Reps don't matter as much as time under tension does.
2. Full ROM Pull-Up
Drives the scapula into upward rotation and builds lat strength, both key pieces of arm deceleration. Go all the way down until the lats fully lengthen. Cutting the range short cuts the benefit.
3. Parallette Push-Up
Deeper range through the pecs than a standard bench, with less stress on the wrist and shoulder. Load it with chains or a plate on your back once bodyweight gets easy.
4. Corkscrew Row
A horizontal row that pushes full scap retraction and internal rotation at the bottom, mimicking the tissue lengthening that happens when you lay back to throw.
5. Landmine Press
Hits the anterior shoulder and serratus, the muscles that let the arm get overhead freely. Brace the abs and press at an angle, not straight up, to keep the shoulder working.
6. Single-Arm Bicep Eccentric
Pitchers skip biceps work, but the biceps and flexor mass protect the elbow and UCL as you decelerate into ball release. Slow eccentrics on an incline bench, done post-throw to avoid fatigue.
How should undersized pitchers approach training for velocity?🤔
We've coached hundreds of pitchers under 5'11" throwing 92+ mph, and we ran the numbers on what makes them different from their less vertically challenged counterparts.
Mass? Momentum? Rotational velocities? Sequencing? Impulse? Ground force?
A 45-minute deep dive that lays the groundwork for how to approach the process.

Somewhere tonight a family is driving home from a tournament debating whether the weekend was worth it. Here is the honest test: did he get better, did he compete, and does he still love it. If the answer is yes three times, it was worth it. None of those three require a trophy.
The 3-Step Throwing Buildup
Phase 1: Foundational (M/W/F throws) Build intensity and volume slowly with a full recovery day between throws. Perfect for the first weeks of the offseason to start the ramp without stacking fatigue.
Phase 2: High–Low Structure Keep Mon/Thu = Low (short, lower-intensity) that ramp into Tue/Fri = High (longer, higher-intent). Both high days are followed by recovery (Wed/Sat), so you can push those sessions confidently.
Phase 3: High/Medium/Low Rhythm Maintain Tue/Fri = High (now likely bullpens/live BPs), bump Mon/Thu up to Medium workload, and make Wed/Sat = Low (light catch). By the end, you’re at 6 days/week: 2 High, 2 Medium, 2 Low, which carries cleanly through live BPs and transitions well to a 7-day rotation (e.g., Tue = bullpen, Fri = game-day).
Obviously, there are multiple ways to schedule these out, but this three-step method is one of the most simple ways to look at it that incorporates a lot of higher-level thinking into it but makes the creation of the program very easy.
Here’s a quick example:
Phase 1
Mon: Throw
Tue: Recovery
Wed: Throw
Thu: Recovery
Fri: Throw
Sat: Recovery
Sun: Recovery (optional light mobility)
Phase 2
Mon: Low
Tue: High
Wed: Recovery
Thu: Low
Fri: High
Sat: Recovery
Sun: Off / optional mobility
Phase 3
Mon: Medium
Tue: High (Bullpen / Live)
Wed: Low (Light catch)
Thu: Medium
Fri: High (Bullpen / Live)
Sat: Low (Light catch)
Sun: Off / recovery
**In an Ideal world, the Low, Medium, High can be objectified with a Velo Range and # of Throws
COACHES: Don’t preach accountability if you’re not going to teach and model that very same accountability. Don't just set the standard, but be the standard. Show the standard. Reinforce the standard.

So he records one last lecture — everything he knows, distilled into a single hour.

This is that lecture.

Pregame matters!! How you prepare before a game is a huge evaluation time for coaches/scouts. You may not get a ball hit to you during the game! Work with intent, at game speed and under control. Spoke to a college coach today, told me he stopped recruiting a player because his pregame was lazy. It translates!! You’re always being evaluated!!
"Bad habits have a cost.
Good habits have a price.
Either way you have to pay.
The meaningful things- we pay for before.
The foolish things- we pay for after."
Winners pay upfront (sacrifice, effort, discipline).
Everyone else pays later (regret).
That’s the difference.

Sports make a great game - but a terrible God.
Listen carefully if you’re an athlete…
One day the season will end.
One day the career will end.
One day the applause will stop.
If your identity is in the game, you’ll feel lost when the game is gone.
But if your identity is in God, the game simply becomes a platform.
Sports are meant to be played.
They were never meant to be worshipped.
Train hard.
Compete with excellence.
Honor God with your effort.
But never forget:
Your purpose is bigger than your performance.
“You shall have no other gods before me.”

"What does it take to break you?"
Not how loud you are.
Not how talented you are.
Not how confident you look.
It’s your response when things go wrong.
What breaks you?
