I thought this was it.
Build done, fans mounted, cables routed.
I was already thinking about what to benchmark first.
Boy, was I wrong.
The PSU's PCIe cable comes up 10cm short of the board. Ten centimeters.
Fine, I have another modular PSU lying around same connector, I'll just borrow a longer cable from that one.
Turns out modular PSU cables are not cross-compatible between brands.
Same plug, completely different pinout.
If I had plugged that in, I'd have sent 12V somewhere the board really doesn't want 12V.
The whole $150 board, dead, because of a cable.
So no first boot today.
Instead I found a guy who makes custom PSU cables and ordered one. Another $30 out of the Spark fund, another week of waiting.
The fully built PC is just sitting on my desk now, staring at me.

The BC250 was designed for passive datacenter airflow so the heatsink is sealed with covers that were never meant to come off.
3 hours of grinding later, they're off.
Now the Arctic P14 Pros can actually push air through the fins.
This is the unsexy 90% of hardware projects nobody posts about.
