@FrostBight @SwiftOnSecurity I don't know if that's common in USA, but in Russia all my banks required me to reconnect my phone number when I lost my SIM card and got a new one.
Apparently there's some sort of sim id they can track as well.

@raxpost it does not *require* authorisation, just suggests it in a heavy-handed fashion. Also there used to be a tabbed version, now gone.

Yet it certainly solves a very real problem in a very handy way. It's just a problem that not everyone realistically has.
