Labelbox has raised $100M+ in Series E funding at $1.25B pre-money valuation, led by Infinitum Partners, with a16z, B Capital, Tau Ventures, Wipro Ventures, Snowpoint Ventures & others.
I'm excited about our products, Horizon for frontier AI labs and Recursion for enterprises, and where we're headed. I wrote more about what this means and what's next: https://t.co/ipJzbAppd7
I ran some real, live evals on Jev vs DiffusionGemma-as-Jev (my patch for vLLM!)
DiffusionGemma comes out as the winner, I think.
Headlines:
Is Jev faster than DiffusionGemma? No ❌ (API vs DGX Spark)
Is Jev smarter than DiffusionGemma? No ❌ (they're roughly tied!)
insane! intelligence too cheap to meter is inevitable in < 2 years
you shouldn't ever have to sample a % of your data. can just have models always-on, monitoring every single unit of data you collect (agent traces, product analytics, slack threads, meetings, o11y, etc etc.)
After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI?
I’ve spent the last 2 years in stealth building a new way to train models (RLCD), and a new type of frontier AI model that we are releasing today: Jev
• 20-200x faster
• 40-400x cheaper (w/ output tokens free)
• Frontier composable intelligence optimized for decisions
AFAICT the shortest path to AI-based economic revolution
very true. more "neolab" type efforts need to happen outside of software/AI
good talent (and capital) should move toward things like building entirely new airplane form factors or even things as silly as new chips (snacks, not etched)
but incentives won't align for that sadly
