Ministry of Rural Development is pleased to share two important knowledge resources released today by Hon'ble Minister of Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan during the day 2 of Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Sammelan 2026:

Viksit Gram Darshika – A comprehensive handbook containing brief descriptions of all permissible works under the VB-G RAM G Act, designed to facilitate planning and execution at the Gram Panchayat level.

Jal Srijan – National Initiative on Water Security – A practical manual on water security and water-related works under VB-G RAM G, aimed at supporting sustainable natural resource management and strengthening climate resilience. It also highlights the National Initiative on water security under VB - G RAM G.

Under the chairmanship of Vishal Singh, Chairman, NCCF, the 4th Meeting of Youth Committee on Cooperatives was held on 3rd January 2024, at NCUI headquarters, in hybrid mode. NCUI's President Dileep Sanghani, Chief Executive Dr Sudhir Mahajan & Rajeev Sharma, Director (Coop Connect & Projects) were also present on this occasion.
The meeting deliberated on expansion of the Youth Committee's membership by having representatives from all states & union territories, as well as from all segments of the Indian cooperative sector!
Another significant agenda of this meeting was related to the organization of the 1st ever National Cooperative Youth Summit in India (Surat, Gujarat) very soon!! This Meeting was coordinated by Anurag, Member Secretary, Youth Committee & Asst. Director (Finance), NCUI.

Extending his warm season’s greetings to NCUI family, NCUI President @Dileep_Sanghani motivated NCUI staff & officials to collectively work with full enthusiasm to ensure that NCUI soars to new heights in FY2024. He stated that as the leading Indian cooperators come together & collectively contribute to the growth of the cooperative movement despite their differing political ideologies, the employees should collectively make best efforts to meet organization’s vision & objectives. NCUI President applauded all for showcasing their strength as well-knit responsible team at 17th Indian Cooperative Congress (ICC) held on 1st & 2nd July 2023, which was inaugurated by Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi as the Chief Guest. He remarked that it was the working principle of ‘Cooperation Among Cooperatives’, which finally led to the establishment of Ministry of Cooperation in congruence to the slogan ‘Sahakar se Samriddhi’.
On this occasion, Dr Sudhir Mahajan, Chief Executive, NCUI, also addressed NCUI family, remarking that though many new milestones have been achieved in 2023, each NCUI vertical should coordinate better and work with full commitment & dedication to take NCUI to new heights in 2024, setting realistic benchmarks. Savitri Singh, Deputy Chief Executive, NCUI, remarked that the NCUI mandate has strengthened further in 2023 with many education & training programs, including NCUI publications, launch of online portal of NCUI Haat & e-learning platform etc. Motivating the employees, she highlighted that amongst the many achievements, the success of 17th ICC can be considered as the biggest achievement, which received huge national as well as international coverage leading to its ripple effect even during G20 Presidency.

Dr Sudhir Mahajan, Chief Executive, NCUI, addressed the delegates at the National Level Conference organized on 4th & 5th December 2023 by GIZ India in collaboration with DAY NRLM & NDDB to celebrate the World Soil Day. Representatives from government organizations like Niti Aayog, Ministry of Rural Development (GoI), ICAR & NABARD along with CEEW, research institutions, state departments of agriculture & livelihood missions, civil society organizations & private sector partners are participating in the 2-days' conference.
On the 2nd day, 'Maati Mitra' certificates will be awarded to selected farmers & community members who have done inspiring work on sustainable soil management in India.
Addressing the conference on 4th December, as a Panelist during the session titled 'Concerted Government Action for Sustainable Soil Health', Dr Mahajan highlighted the recent initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation & NCUI for promoting natural farming & raising awareness on soil conservation among the farmers & cooperatives across India. He stressed on the need for cross-sectoral collaboration & cooperation among all stakeholders for making sustainable soil management a people's movement in India.
