@DJSnM@colonelmanic Actually, as an A&P for over 20 years, I have used an impact several times on various aircraft types…. Just depends on the task at hand and where on the aircraft.
@scarlson99@MCCCANM The same thing happened in the early 90’s with a E-6 on a test flight. The aircraft recovered safely. There is a photo of it in the main hallway of the Boeing Flight Test hangar in Seattle.
@NASAAdmin@DJSnM It looks repairable, and there are at least two more WB-57 airframes still in the boneyard at Davis Monthan AFB. I wonder if they are kept there as a source of spares for these rare birds?
Like Administrator Isaacman has mentioned, the biggest thing is the crew is safe.
@CHRISTOPHEMERK4@GrecianFormula Wrong aircraft. You are thinking of the Tu-22 Blinder. And it wasn’t vodka per se, but a mix of 40% ethanol and 60% highly distilled water, which is basically vodka, but not the same. The type had an extremely high accident rate, and was withdrawn in the early 90’s.
@EverImmorttal@WhatifUwereTold@amuse (4/4) for them to see the UH-60, especially at night. And they were also on short final, with landing mere seconds away. ATC should have called a warning, but did not. There is mass evidence that this has nearly happened 100s of times before. We have been lucky.
@EverImmorttal@WhatifUwereTold@amuse (3/x) the UH-60 crew, combined with ATC as being at fault. However, I will wait for the preliminary NTSB report to point fingers. Now, as to why the CRJ crew didn’t see anything…. They were above and slightly ahead of the helo. It would have been extremely difficult (cont)
@ludicris24@josheagan@ImMeme0 Tell us, what are your credentials to speak on this then? I have 20 years in the aviation industry as an aircraft mechanic, and have worked on everything from piper cubs to 747s. This was a Lear crash, and you are spreading false conspiracies that are baseless. You are clueless
@USSAllegianceXO@HiddenHistoryYT Came here to say Washington as well… the only battleship confirmed to have a kill on another battleship in direct one on one engagement.
@BigKato5683@JackPosobiec The way the largest cities vote in a state controls how the state goes. Key example is Washington. Washington is conservative, with the exception of ~6-7 counties. The problem is two of those counties hold 3/5 of the states population. Seattle controls the way Washington votes.
@not_tracer_120@Rothmus It was real…. Was…. The person who posted it deleted it. What shocks me the most is the number of people agreeing with it….

@badhombre@CollinRugg You do realize that this incident is all on Southwest, correct? The plane in question is over 8 years old, and this incident has nothing to do with Boeing other than it’s a Boeing plane, it’s a Southwest maintenance issue
@edlewusa @apoure25 Kalitta’s maintenance base is in Oscoda Michigan. As others have pointed out, 743 will be parked there, and slowly parted out over time. Her flying days may be over, but she still has thousands of useful parts to keep many more 747s flying
@jetcitystar As far as I know, the only brick and mortar Boeing Store in Washington (possibly the entire west coast) is at Future of Flight in Everett. Even the factory and delivery center stores are no more
