SUMMER SAFETY REMINDER: We want everyone in Santa Clara County to enjoy their summer safely, and that means reckless driving and driving under the influence won’t be tolerated.

After the Aguachile Fest at El Rancho Grande De Morgan Hill in late June, cars and crowds filled the streets and sidewalks. Our Sheriff’s deputies were out there to keep the community safe.

One driver was spotted doing a long burnout down Condit Road. When a deputy ordered him to stop, the driver waved, tried to speed off, and ended up stuck in gridlock traffic. He then attempted to hide by climbing into the back seat to make it look like there was no driver at all.

Deputies conducted field sobriety tests on both the driver and the passenger. The driver was arrested and booked into the Main Jail for reckless driving and suspicion of DUI.

We’re here to keep our roads safe, but we need your help. Don’t put yourself or others at risk. Please drive responsibly.
