On Diversity - “We have to take a chance on people… Challenge the norms… Leadership is messy… Coach and stand for their success.” — Danielle Kirgan, EVP, Macys. #HRTechConf
@anisharavind@HarvardBiz@anisharavind - to your point - check out this @GallupWorkplace data for those below 35. "Disturbingly, less than four in 10 young remote or hybrid employees clearly know what is expected of them at work." https://t.co/70e04LgmPA #hybridwork#GenZ
Here at Thrive, we believe in the power of small strategies to help us live with less stress and more joy. Those tiny actions taken daily add up to big results. Each one of us is different, but we all have one common goal: putting our well-being first. This is #HowWeThrive.
@tomfgoodwin@AdamSinger This is a great discussion. Even for Internet jobs, the occasional face-to-face during ideation, occasional mid-phase reset, and retrospective/celebration can be truly useful. I agree "shipping" doesn't need to be F2F.
@MarkCCrowley Agree with @PaulHCrick and @MarkCCrowley that these hardline policies aren't in sync with how everyone works best. Some may prefer the structure but others will either opt out or not be able to contribute at their best.
This nugget is consistent with the notion that that the lack of engagement associated with #QuietQuitting is more associated with ineffective managers than the employee's intrinsic motivation.
Another great point on #QuietQuitting "Paring down your participation ... at work ... also means you lose many of the things that can make a workplace enriching in the first place; organizing socials, remembering people’s birthdays, bringing in treats on special occasions."
Great point here. #QuietQuitting is not a thing... "The notion of quiet quitting suggests a norm where people have to perform extra, often undesirable tasks outside of their job description, and where not doing that additional work is considered a form of “quitting” your job."
Great article on collaboration in the "next normal" with an important starting point - "As you start this journey, be sure to take a close look at psychological safety. "
Interesting! MT @brilliantink
Interacting is easier than ever (how often does someone ask to hop on Zoom?) but truly productive value-creating #collaboration is not. Here's why: https://t.co/lc9Ms59Fb2 via @McKinsey#RemoteWork#HybridWork#WorkTrends
I prefer this advice over the idea of #QuietQuitting. "And if having an honest discussion about your work-life balance leads to conflict or punishment, that’s usually a sign to start searching for another job. "
I like the description of ‘loudly persisting’ - the act of employees feeling encouraged enough to vocalize how their organization can better serve their goals.
