Ivanka Trump says she swam barefoot to a 1,400-hectare, off-grid Mediterranean island to scout her next project. Now, she and Jared Kushner are building a massive destination from scratch on one of the last untouched coastlines in Europe. Here is exactly what they are building.
I looked into the details. The site is Sazan Island in Albania. It is a decommissioned Soviet and Italian military base that has sat abandoned for years.
Through Kushner’s firm, Affinity Partners, they are investing $1.4 billion to transform the restricted island into an ultra-luxury eco-resort.
To pull this off without ruining the pristine terrain, they partnered with Aman Resorts. Aman is famous for hiring master architects who integrate buildings directly into the natural topography. Major Food Group, the company behind Carbone, is handling the dining.
Building a world-class destination from absolute scratch with zero existing power infrastructure is a massive logistical challenge. If they succeed, they will turn a forgotten weapons base into one of the most impressive travel destinations in the world.
@wolfejosh@chillfoodguy@madmaxbr5@kimmaicutler In what world are whistles aggression? They call attention to ICE agents blatantly violating people's civil liberties and make it less likely it will happen.
@teddyschleifer There will be a line item on california's revenue breakdown next year of the tax revenue @RoKhanna singlehandedly obliterated. Even if not passed this is already the 3rd billionaire I've heard of who has preemptively moved. That is lost even if the measure never gets on.
@Austin_Federa@11AMdotclub@doublezero Yes my point is the middle income person may not have been trained to think they should own individual stocks in the first place leave alone buy tesla. Someone likely needs to spam them with some ads/media and convince them they are missing out.
It's not clear to me how wildly underserved and/or educated the market is. If you live in these places, have some wealth and know and want to buy tesla, you may have found a way. Your average guy on the street hasn't but they likely need to go through the same education cycle us retail did. There is likely a lot of ad spend/media between here and there. Mind you as of 2022 only 21% of us households owned individual stocks. That number is shockingly lower in some countries.
