Melissa reminded us that urban vitality comes from designing streets and public spaces that really serve people. When we plan for safe walking paths, comfortable public spaces, proper lighting, and environments that invite us to gather, cycle, and connect; we create cities that remain vibrant and #inclusive for everyone.
Because as we age, what sustains our independence and dignity is not just infrastructure for movement, but spaces where we feel safe, connected, and alive.

After the inspiring transformation of Anath Road into the vibrant and inclusive Janpath Street, another remarkable change has taken shape - this time in Lane No. 7, Sector-18, Gurugram.
Once dismissed as a dump yard, the lane has been reimagined into a true People’s Street. The redesign focuses on #usability, #accessibility, and #sustainability, featuring:
- Dedicated walking and cycling lanes
- Bollards to restrict misuse by motorized vehicles
- Lush plantations offering fresh air and summer shade
- Clear lane markings and street lighting for safety and visibility
- Bioswales for effective rainwater recharge
- Designated parking and proper traffic signage & much more...
This transformation showcases a growing movement towards reclaiming public spaces for people, making our streets safer, greener, and more inclusive for all.

Immensely impressed by the "Spatial Storytelling" exhibition at #UrbanAdda organised by @Raahgiri_Fdn, @TheICCT_India, @Gurugram! Kudos to curator Sagar Singh for transforming a space into a living narrative with sustainable materials, beautifully aligning with #SDG17. Truly delightful to see the integration of visual and performing arts driving partnerships for sustainable cities! A remarkable effort for a better urban future.
At the 25th edition of #SundaysOnCycle, it was inspiring to see people from all walks of life come together to support the important cause of #FightObesity!
A big thank you to Dr. Bhairavi Joshi, CEO, BYCS India, Shri Dilip Sabharwal, the Bicycle Mayor, New Delhi and Sarika Panda Bhatt, Founder Trustee, #Raahgiri Foundation for joining us and for their continued support and commitment to building healthier and more active communities.
