Sadhguru likes to do his own things with custom branding, so that he can claim uniqueness (good for business too). But also claims authenticity from the Yogic tradition. This is what attracted me to him but once I realized integrity is not his strength, I left!

THE CHARGE AGAINST ISHA

After Isha announced Kalabhairava processes for those affected by the Tibet floods, the familiar criticism appeared:

“Where is this exact ritual in scripture?”
“Which text gives Sadhguru this procedure?”
“Isn’t this simply an invented Isha ritual?”

Fair question.

But some traditionalists are asking it using a framework Sanatana Dharma itself never required.

Shocked to see the videos of the sudden floods in Nepal and the devastation caused by them. Really sad that many Kailash pilgrims are missing, including 80 people in the batch from Isha Foundation. Praying for the safety of all the missing people.

Based on Daniel Pink's recommendation, I have read the book Grit which is quite enlightening and inspiring. Thanks to @angeladuckw for her great work. I particularly enjoyed her conversation with @melrobbins on Youtube which is a great summary of the main ideas.

Surprised to see this Marathi song from @ilaiyaraaja for a film called Gondhal! Loved it. Raja's strengths shine through in this folk based song. The tune has definite Raja's flavors in it but it is also not his typical tune.

My western music knowledge is nil but I can say that I loved the string orchestra performances in my daughter's school. @ilaiyaraaja's symphony gave me the same feel and happiness as those western classics. It is wonderful to see him do this!

@ramjowrites "గోదావరి గట్టుపైన" అనే సినిమాలో నేను ఎంతో ఇష్టపడే రచయిత, మా గురువు రామజోగయ్య శాస్త్రి గారు వ్రాసిన 'నేను నా పల్లెటూరు' అనే పాట గురించి ఎంత చెప్పినా తక్కువే! కవి పల్లెని ఆవాహనం చేసుకొని ఈ పాటని వ్రాశాడా అనే ఆశ్చర్యం కలిగింది. పల్లె గురించి ఎన్నో పాటలు వచ్చి ఉండొచ్చు కానీ ఇది మాత్రం పల్లె హృదయాన్ని ఆవిష్కరించిన పాట.

పల్లవి

నేనూ నా పల్లెటూరు
ఇంతే నా స్వర్గం
అందం ఆనందమే
అనునిత్యం నా మార్గం

పాటలో ఉన్న మొదటి రెండు వాక్యాలతోనే పల్లె ఆత్మని ఒడిసిపట్టుకున్న కవి, మన వేలు పట్టుకొని పల్లె తాలూకు జ్ఞాపకాల వైపు నడిపించినట్టుగా అనిపిస్తుంది.

పిలిచే రంగుల ముంగిళ్ళు
ఇరుకే తెలియని లోగిళ్ళు

ఈ రెండు వాక్యాలలో ముగ్గులతో పిలిచే వాకిళ్లు, ఇరుకు ఇంటికే తప్ప మనసుకి లేదని అనిపించే పల్లె ప్రజల ప్రేమని గుర్తుచేస్తుంది.

వావీవరసల వంతెనగా
మనసులు కలిపే సందళ్ళు

వావివరుసలతో సాలెగూళ్ళులా అల్లుకుపోయిన పల్లెప్రజల హృదయానికి ఈ వాక్యాలు అద్దంపడుతాయి.

ఈచోటి నెమ్మది
ఏచోటా లేనిది

ఇక్కడ కవి లోతైన అవగాహన, వాక్యాలలో పొందుపరిచిన లోతైన భావం మనలని ఎంతగానో ఆకట్టుకుంటాయి. సిటీలో ఉన్న పరుగు కాకుండా నెమ్మదిలోనే జీవిత ఆస్వాదన ఉంటుందనేది ఇక్కడ కవి భావం. ఆస్వాదించడంలో పరుగు ఉండదు, ఆనందం మాత్రమే ఉంటుంది.

ఈ పచ్చి గాలి నిండార పీల్చే
ప్రాణాల నిడివి వెయ్యేళ్ళు
ఈ గూటి గువ్వ ఆ యేటి కలువ
ఈ మట్టి మనుషులె నావాళ్ళు

కలుషితం కాని గాలి, కల్మషం లేని మనసు రెండిటిని గుర్తుచేసేలా ఉన్నాయి ఈ వాక్యాలు. పల్లెలో ఉన్న గొప్పతనం ఏమిటంటే ప్రతిదీ మనది అనే భావన కలుగుతుంది, పారే సెలయేరు నుండి ఎక్కడో ఉన్న పుట్ట కూడా మనదే అనే భావన నిండిన పల్లె ప్రజల మనసుని కవి ఇక్కడ అద్భుతంగా అక్షరాల్లో పొదిగాడు.

చరణం 1

అందినదేది పొందనిదేది
అంతా మాయేలే
ఉన్నది ఏదో చాలనుకుంటాలే

ఉన్నదానితో సంతోషపడే పల్లె ప్రజల మనసుని గుర్తుచేసేలా ఉన్న ఈ వాక్యాలు ఎంతో గొప్పగా అనిపించాయి.

తెలతెలవారే కొత్త ఉగాది
రోజూ నాదేలే
ప్రతినిమిషంలో పండుగ చూస్తాలే

పల్లెకి పండుగ అవసరం లేదు, పల్లె వాతావరణమే పండుగలా ఉంటుంది. అందుకే కవి 'ప్రతి నిమిషంలో పండుగ చూస్తాలే' అని వ్రాశాడనిపించింది.

బతుకెంత చిగురంత
దించేస్తా బరువంతా

ఎంత అందమైన భావం ❤ పల్లె తల్లితో సమానం. తల్లి ఒడిలో తల పెట్టి పడుకుంటే ఎలా అనిపిస్తుందో పల్లెలో అడుగు పెట్టినా అదే భావన కలుగుతుంది. అందుకే ఇక్కడ కవి "బతుకెంత చిగురంత.....దించేస్తా బరువంతా" అని వ్రాశాడనిపించింది.

చిరునవ్వే నా కథ
సరదాలే సంపద

పల్లె మనుషుల ముఖాల్లో ఉండే ఆ చిరునవ్వు, ఎప్పుడూ సరదాగా ఉండే మనస్తత్వాన్ని కవి చక్కగా వర్ణించాడు ఈ వాక్యాల్లో.

ఏ లోటుపాటు రవ్వంత లేని
మరో ప్రపంచం నాదంటా
నా పేరు నేనే గుర్తుంచుకోని
సామాన్యజీవిని నేనంటా

పల్లెకి వెళ్తే అది నీ సొంత ప్రపంచంలా అనిపిస్తుంది. చెట్టు వేర్లు నేలంతా వ్యాపించినట్టుగా అక్కడ నీ అనే భావన నలుదిక్కులా వ్యాపించి ఉంటుంది. నీది అనే భావన కలిగినప్పుడు నీ పేరు, గుర్తింపు కోసం ఎలాంటి పాకులాట ఉండదు.

తేనెకన్న తీపిగల్ల తాయిలాల ముల్లె ఏదో ఎతుక్కుంటె నీలొ నీకే దొరకందా

పల్లె మనుషుల్లో ఉండే తుంటరితనాన్ని, కొంటెతనాన్ని కూడా కవి వదలకుండా ఈ పాటలో పొందుపరచడం కవి విలక్షణమైన ఆలోచనాశైలికి అద్దంపడుతుంది.

చరణం 2

నాలుగు దిక్కులె నా గది గోడలు
నేనే చోటున్నా
భూగోళమె నా ఇల్లనుకుంటాలే

పల్లెలో ఉండే గొప్పతనం ఏమిటంటే ఈ ఇల్లు మాత్రమే నాది అనే భావన కన్నా పల్లె మొత్తం నాదే అనే భావన ఎక్కువగా కలుగుతుంది. ఎవరినైనా పలకరించే స్వేచ్ఛ, ఎవరి ఇంటికైనా నేరుగా వెళ్లే చనువు ఉంటాయి కాబట్టి "నాలుగు దిక్కులె నా గది గోడలు" అనే గొప్ప భావాన్ని తక్కువ పదాలలో పొందుపరచడాన్ని అభినందించకుండా ఉండలేము.

నన్నాపవులే ఏ గిరి గీతలు
ఎల్లలు దాటైనా
ప్రేమలు పంచే వెల్లువనౌతాలే

ఊరికి కొత్త వ్యక్తి వచ్చినా అతనితో మాట కలపడం, అన్నం తిన్నావా అని అడగడం అక్కడి ప్రజల మనసులో ఎలాంటి హద్దులు లేని ప్రేమను తెలియజేస్తుంది.

బదులిస్తా కదిలొస్తా
బంధువునై బలమిస్తా

పదుగురితో హాయిగా
పయనిస్తా ప్రేమగా

ఎవరితోనైనా కలిసిపోయే పల్లె ప్రజల మనస్తత్వాన్ని, ప్రతి ఒక్కరితో ప్రేమగా ఉండే స్వభావాన్ని కవి ఈ వాక్యాలలో స్పృశించాడు. (1/2)
