@SchafflerCHS Let teachers spruce up their Schoology pages. I think there needs to be a little bit of uniformity to make it easier for the students to navigate; But I think teachers can add their own touches to make it unique. #wuedt6020
@mrsyoungchs It should be mandated by the district. It isn't productive to have teachers with different classroom policies about phone especially when students are seeing so many different teachers in high school. #wuedt6020
@ShannonZeccola Yes, especially at the Elementary level. I enjoy it though. I think it is apart of the process of developing a teamwork with parents to ensuring the child is set up for success. #wuedt6020
@MichelleDech3 Before I try a new tech with my whole class I will look at the student facing side and try to navigate any trouble shoots. Often the teacher's screen and student's screen can look different so making sure you know how to navigate the student's experience. #wuedt6020
@BlakeMusicTeach Great question, I work for a charter school in Washington DC. They spend lot of time training their teachers on new tech and they also give us a lot of time to plan how/when to use the new technology. #wuedt6020
@klineawilmu Nearpod! I started making them during virtual instruction, but I realized how they make most lessons more interactive, engaging, and give immediate feedback during the lesson. I continue to use them being back in the classroom. #wuedt6020
@DHS_CoachClark@EdTechLaura Robert, I agree! Technology has so many benefits, but I think its important to spend time developing all skills not just tech literacy. Technology can enhance a lot of lessons, but it can't be used to replace all skills taught in general education #wuedt6020
@djdanij7 I agree technology can enhance learning, but I think more pressure should be placed on curriculum designers in implementing this technology and less pressure on teachers to sift through relevant tech resources. #wuedt6020
@ClaireShipley13@AlexTrace27@EdTechLaura Claire, I agree a blended mix of Ed tech and traditional makes for the ultimate learning. I don't know of many teachers that would say optimal learning happened during virtual instruction and I can make the same case for a classroom with no technology. #wuedt6020
@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura Edtech can enhance nearly every lesson for students. It can make lessons more engaging and interactive. It also gives teachers more data. I'm hesitant to say EdTech is better than traditional teaching, but it certainly has a lot of benefits. #wuedt6020
@MrO_ELA@EdTechLaura@McCoolWILMu My school counselors created an SEL curriculum and it is one of my favorite blocks of the day. Students get to problem solve and work collaboratively. It teaches skills and allows time to express how to handle different situations. #wuedt6020
@kevin_wolgemuth Kevin, thanks for the recommendation. I hadn't heard of Blooket, but I just looked it up and it looks engaging and interactive. I am going to try it out one day this week. #wuedt6020
@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura I am interested in implementing the flipped classroom and gamificiation into my teaching. If implemented correctly, both can enhance the engagement and learning in the classroom. #wuedt6020
