My best shot of the 2025 Prayag Maha Kumbh Mela from ISS. It is a once in a 144 year Hindu pilgrimage to sacred riverbanks in India and one of the largest events in the world, with millions of people in this single photo!
Join us live from our Main Control Room on 3 September as mission controllers oversee #BepiColombo's first critical step towards orbiting Mercury: the separation of its Mercury Transfer Module (MTM).

Launched by ISRO on 1 September 2023, Aditya-L1 marked India’s first dedicated solar mission, travelling to a halo orbit around the Sun–Earth L1 point to study the Sun and its space-weather effects.
Three years on, India’s solar observatory continues to strengthen the country’s capabilities in space science.

#Slooh Quest: Rainbows in the Universe. Since joining Slooh, I've been able to observe the different colours of stars through their awesome telescopes. Even though this is a beginners quest, I jumped on board. I will never get tired of looking at the stars. #sloohshare#stars
There’s a lot happening behind all that sunshine! ☀️ 👀
Launched on September 02, 2023, India’s Aditya-L1 is getting a closer look — studying the Sun’s atmosphere, solar flares and Coronal Mass Ejections, and revealing new details about our closest star.
Decoding the Sun today. Unlocking discoveries for tomorrow. 🇮🇳

Conservation of energy is not a rule, it is a consequence ✍️
Everyone learns in school that energy cannot be created or destroyed. In 1918 Emmy Noether proved something deeper: that this is true only because the laws of physics work the same way today as they did yesterday. Every conservation law turns out to be a symmetry in disguise.
Energy is conserved because the laws do not care what time it is; momentum is conserved because they do not care where you are; angular momentum is conserved because they do not care which way you are facing. Break the symmetry and the conservation law goes with it, which is why in an expanding universe, where there is no fixed sense of the same moment everywhere, there is no meaningful way to add up the total energy at all. Noether did this work while unpaid, having been denied a university position on the grounds of her sex, and lecturing at Göttingen under Hilbert's name.
THEY ARE SO FAST!
