Borrowing ₹5,000 shouldn’t cost you your peace, dignity, or financial freedom. 🚨

@RBI, the fight isn’t over. ⚖️

📄 DOCUMENTS SHARED WITH OUR NEWS DESK
The borrower provided a list of 32 loan accounts naming multiple lending platforms and associated finance companies.
Several entries indicate 30-day repayment periods and stated daily charges of up to 1.25%.
We urge @RBI to examine the underlying loan agreements, actual APRs, fees, lending entities and recovery complaints.
We invite the concerned lenders to provide their responses.
Borrowers deserve fair lending, transparent charges and lawful recovery practices.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: ₹74,000 MONTHLY SALARY. ₹16–17 LAKH IN DEBT. 32 LOANS LISTED.
Another disturbing account of India’s payday loan crisis has reached us.
A Hyderabad-based MNC employee has contacted @aarushisharmaX, describing how his financial life allegedly collapsed within just 7–8 months.
He earns ₹74,000 per month and supports his wife, young child and widowed mother.
Today, he says he is trapped in approximately ₹16–17 lakh of debt across multiple payday loan app lenders.
📄 He shared a spreadsheet listing 32 loan accounts, including several short-term loans with stated charges of 1%–1.25% per day. ( screenshot in 1st reply)
According to his account:
🔴 Repeated borrowing caused his outstanding debt to escalate.
🔴 Recovery callers allegedly threatened him and contacted his workplace.
🔴 Local recovery representatives allegedly pressured him for payments.
🔴 He says he has even paid money separately to manage some recovery-related pressure.
💔 The most disturbing part?
He describes severe anxiety, sleepless nights and thoughts of self-harm.
This is no longer just a question of interest rates. It is a question of borrower protection, financial vulnerability and human dignity.
QUESTIONS FOR @RBI AND @FinMinIndia:
How are multiple lenders assessing repayment capacity before approving further loans?
Are the disclosed daily charges and repayment demands compliant with applicable regulations?
Who is investigating allegations of workplace threats and coercive recovery?
What meaningful relief is available to borrowers trapped in repeated high-cost borrowing?
A LOAN SHOULD NEVER COST SOMEONE THEIR PEACE, DIGNITY OR LIFE.
We are withholding the borrower’s identity for privacy and safety.
The allegations and loan records require independent verification. The lenders concerned should have an opportunity to respond.

Dear Debt Settlement Companies, Law Firms & Financial Advisory Firms,
Borrowers who approach you are often drowning in financial distress. They come to you believing you will be their guardian, their saviour, and their last hope for justice. Stop selling them hope wrapped in illusions. Show them the reality, be transparent, and deliver what you promise.
Once they enrol, stand by them from beginning to end. Give them genuine guidance, ethical representation, and a fair chance to rebuild their lives. Do not burden them further with unaffordable fees, advance-payment pressure, or gimmicky Dussehra, Diwali, and Christmas offers promising fee waivers later.
These borrowers are already fighting financial battles. Do not become another set of recovery agents collecting money from people who are already struggling to survive. Let your profession stand for integrity, empathy, accountability, and justice not aggressive sales tactics and empty promises.
Be their solution, not another part of their problem. They need genuine help, not another financial burden!!!
@Johnfp1qa@PaywithRing Yes they are playing with human lifes. Recovery agents are impersonating themselves as advocate, police and see how much fear they are creating. I am going to sue them legally.
Is ₹6.20 lakh more valuable than a human life?
28-year-old Datta Suryakant Kumbhar from Ankulga Rani, Latur, hanged himself after relentless recovery pressure from private finance companies & loan apps.
He left a suicide note blaming the harassment amid drought. His wife, two young children & elderly mother are now left shattered.
How many more lives will it take for @RBI, @FinMinIndia & Maharashtra government to act against predatory lending & recovery tactics by NBFCs and loan apps?
This is not just debt. This is systemic failure.

Why Payday loan Apps don't agree for settlement or Part-payment option which would allow to get their money back easily and customer will also put efforts to clear the payments ?????
Instead they resort to illegal, unethical and filthy Recovery Process.
@aarushisharmaX Actually it's a trap. I don't know how they giving loan without checking repayment capacity of a borrower. Struggling a lot to come out from this. Huge harrasment
Suicide is NOT the way out.
Banks & NBFCs — BEWARE.
It is heartbreaking to see people pushed to suicide because of recovery agents’ harassment. Mental torture, threats, public humiliation… enough is enough.
Maharashtra Deputy CM **Eknath Shinde** has finally given a strict warning: Anyone (banks, NBFCs, microfinance companies or private lenders) harassing will face criminal action. No mercy.
Hope this message reaches every official and is implemented strictly.
We may not know these people personally, yet it still hurts deeply. Imagine the lifelong pain for their families, children and friends.
Don’t suffer in silence. Speak up. Tell your friends, neighbours, local leaders, political parties — **every single life is important**.
Tag the banks and NBFCs that still allow such harassment. Make them accountable.

माननीय @RBI ,@RBIsays🙏

Festive season approaching — don’t get tempted by “instant loans” just because Diwali shopping or gifts feel urgent.
Those unregulated loan apps are traps. They grab your contacts, morph photos, bombard family/colleagues/office groups with threats and abuse, and escalate tiny amounts into crushing debt. Even government officials and bankers have faced this harassment:
Telangana agriculture extension officer (2020) — 55 apps, severe defamation and threats, ended her life.
Andhra Pradesh govt staff (2023 reports) — unions flagged suicides linked to such apps amid salary delays, including a DRDA employee in Anantapur.
Bengaluru cooperative bank employee (2022) — listed ~40 apps in his note before dying by suicide after recovery harassment.
Thousands of complaints have been filed nationwide; recovery tactics remain illegal and unchecked in many cases. This is not “collection” — it is criminal intimidation and abetment.
We demand immediate, strict action from government, RBI, and law enforcement: permanent ban on illegal apps, swift prosecution of operators and recovery agents, data protection, and clear helplines.
Tag and push @RBI@FinMinIndia@HMOIndia @cybercrimeGOI.
