@politicalmath This is a bad take because you should never gatekeep voting based on their motivation for voting.
There 100% were people who voted Trump because they hoped they'd get a pardon from him, or other hollow motivations, but we'll never be asking *these* voters why they're voting.
@Lairdphoenix27 Zuko was the crown prince of a multi-generational dynastic monarchy. IRL kings "brought their sons to work" all the time, because they needed to both learn the job & meet the people. It established practical skills & political legitimacy for the job they knew they'd one day have.
@BiblicGrounded It's not and you don't think it is either. Christianity is chock full of exceptions for killing that you've decided is "right."
Self-defense, capital punishment, war, fishing boats that "may" have drugs, abortion providers, fleeing criminals, etc.
@RBuckeyeOSUFan Usually, slowing your population growth + isolating your nation financially & militarily + gutting your science funding is not going to set you up for success long-term.
@JennMGreenberg Honestly, you look at certain aspects & differences regarding the Old & New Testaments and it does kinda feel like God is confused, traumatized, unwell, and narcissistic.
@tleehumphrey "Perhaps they should just honour the contract they signed just 3 years ago"
Maybe Trump should honor the contracts he himself negotiated last term...
@brianduffytweet@Authw8 This, but also you ban things that you don't want the enemy to do to you. So you don't execute POWs, because you don't want the enemy executing yours.
And then when your "Sec of War" says "give no quarter," you know he's convincing the enemy to not give your guys quarter either.
@DaddyWarpig@RealNickCole This would be a cool time for Trump to prove that he's actually a real estate / bureaucratic / negotiation master.
Instead he'll build an arch and put his name on a JFK memorial, but this would be the perfect project for him to make the mark he's so desperate to make.
@earlyvotedata Protest discourse is so tiring.
"No one will show up!"
...and when they do...
"They were paid! It's AI / PS / an old protest! If you have time to protest, you have time to get a job!"
...and later on...
"Trump's still president lol, what did you accomplish?"
Every time.
@BleuRiverWho@TomFitton Flagrantly violating the law in order to glorify yourself on someone else's memorial sounds like he would *like* to be king.
The main questions are whether courts, Congress, and the voters will let him, and whether he'll abide by court orders that go against him.
@CFOthegrog I was trying to give you a specific example of a liberal, who served, and yet is getting punished by MAGA unconstitutionally.
Your followup about flag burning seemed like a response to that, but I guess it was just a non sequitur?
@theistinthought@novanova46 You're not responsible for someone else's sins. If they've sinned, that's between them and God.
If you refuse to help the poor, migrants, widows, orphans, etc, that's between you and God. Nowhere did Jesus say "since some migrants commit crimes, you can ignore them all :)"
