@SaParedes13 I agree that music should be based on the quality over anything else. People like different types of music based on their preferences rather than where the artist is from/where the music was made #MUS2011
I don't believe a quota on Canadian content in the industry in necessary because in today's era most people download their music digitally and base their selections based on the style of music they enjoy, not really based on where the content was created #mus2011
@SamBrake3 definitely, every artist will interpret a certain beat or song differently so it is always interesting to see what kind of personal twist a artist will put on a song #MUS2011
I agree with Walds statement that people would prefer studio recordings over live covers just because the originality offered by studio versions. When out at social events or gatherings live music is often very entertaining as performers can put a unique twist on a song #mus2011
@MichaelPumphre6 very true. I definitely think you can feel live performances more so than recorded versions, but the studio version often sounds much better in terms of the quality of music to the ears of the listener #MUS2011
@rebecca_winsor good point, he certainly had a unique style that I believe made listeners feel connected while listening to his songs. The use of voice breaks was certainly a huge factor in his success as an artist #MUS2011
@jonyick1997 I definitely agree Jonathan, when people think of Ray Charles they think of his unique style of music. By using voice breaking and falsetto in his music these concepts started to be thought of each time his name was mentioned. These concepts became a part of his identity #MUS2011
I believe Ray Charles used a breaking voice in his music in order to add a sense of customisation to his music which made his songs unique to him (branded his music in a way) and because the changes in his voice added a strong sense of passion to the music he produced #MUS2011
@HalleranZachary I agree Zachary, paying just a couple bucks a month for a Apple music membership is much better than having to purchase all your music. With Apple Music we have access to basically anything we want for the cost of just a couple dollars each month #MUS2011
@fleonard13 i definitely agree Frankie, spotify is great at offering playlists unique to your taste in music which I think is great for finding new artists or songs with similar styles to the music you currently listen to #MUS2011
New inventions such as the iPod or MP3 make it much easier for listeners to access any type of music at the click of a finger, compared to years ago when people were forced to buy physical copies such as discs for the music they wanted to listen to #MUS2011
@WaddenNeil very true Neil, each person has their own taste of music and look for certain things in music that they enjoy. A bad song to one person can be a great song to another person depending on the lyrics, beat, flow, etc. #MUS2011
a false need that music has created is the idea that life is all about being rich and driving luxurious cars, but in reality theres such a small percentage of the population that gets to live this lifestyle this music it often gives many young kids the wrong image #MUS2011
@rebecca_winsor you're absolutely right Rebecca music really goes through phases because artists want to pump out a certain style of music once they see other artists having success with that certain style, music is all about creativity and more innovation should be applied to new types #MUS2011
