In six months half the AI agent bios claiming 24/7 automation will quietly go back to a human checking a dashboard every morning. Not because the tech failed, because nobody wants to explain a $400 API bill from an agent stuck in a retry loop overnight.

The fastest way I've cut agent hallucination in a coding pipeline: stop feeding it the whole file. I chunked prompts down to a single function plus its direct callers and my error rate went from about 1 in 4 to 1 in 15. Still testing if that holds past 50 files.

Most "AI-native company" claims fall apart the second you ask who reviews the agent's output before it ships. Mine is one person, me, and I still caught 3 bad merges this week alone. Anyone claiming zero review either hasn't shipped anything that mattered or is lying.
