🔥 Exciting new work from our grad student Milan Patel! Using our BEACO2N network, Milan tracked a fire plume and quantified fire emissions!
📊770 kg PM2.5
📊70,000 kg CO2
📊2,500 kg CO

Twenty years of analysis show that the relationship between enhanced #NO2 concentrations & temperature is driven by nighttime stagnation episodes that are distinct from daytime trends. @UCB_Chemistry@lab_cohen

In this ES&T article, @NaomiNaomu and @lab_cohen present 5 years of #CO2emissions for the San Francisco Bay Area using observations from the BEACO2N network, the HRRR-STILT model, and Bayesian inverse modeling.

An extensive CO2 monitoring network set up around the San Francisco Bay Area has recorded the first evidence that adopting electric vehicles is measurably lowering the area's carbon emissions. https://t.co/m7RCwFSgIz
Come to Germany instead! Here, PhD students get salaries, benefits, PTO and parental leave. I have a PhD position on offer @fz_juelich - info and application link here: https://t.co/DfyJDaFMue Also, we have better bread than the Brits ;)
Sally Pusede @UVA is hiring a postdoc to contribute to model development efforts to inform #AirQuality regulations that are accessible & help reverse broad patterns of exclusion from decision-making. Sally, me, @lab_cohen Come join! #EnvironmentalJustice

I just logged into the GRC system and found our photo! Call me old fashioned, I liked getting the printed version. I can only tag 10 people - please share with others who might be interested to see the #AtmosphericChemistry#GRC photo from @sundayriver
Just out in @EGU_ACP: How we used airborne volatile organic compound (#VOC) flux measurements to validate #emission inventories and attribute emissions to sources. We found that citrus processing and dairies are underestimated sources of VOCs. #AirQuality#AtmosChem
A great day for the Cohen group undergrads! Congrats to Selina, Niloo, and Arushi for presenting their work today.
Niloo was awarded the Best Data Visualization Award in the Data Science Discovery Program!
I’m looking for a postdoc to join my group at Rutgers University to study the impacts of wildfires on ozone-NOx-VOC chemistry. See details in the link below: https://t.co/llUuq05tlc
@AtmChemAeroJobs
I'm recruiting 1-2 graduate students to join my group at Rutgers University to work on air quality, wildfires and remote sensing. Students can apply either the Atmospheric Science or Environmental Sciences program. Please email me if you are interested! @AtmChemAeroJobs
We're excited to announce that @lab_cohen's Ron Cohen has joined Computing, Data Science, and Society as our executive associate dean!
Welcome, Ron! 🎉💙🐻💛
