My new review on spider silk bioproduction is out in @ACSBiomaterials Thank you to my co-authors for being a great group to learn from and with on this riveting topic and to my PI @KaplanLab_Tufts for encouraging us to submit the work we were doing in a peer reviewed journal!🕷️🕸️
Nucleate proudly announces a seminal review on spider silk production, led by Ghita Guessous, @lablake93, Anthony Bui, @yelim_woo, and @gmanzanarezz. Read the review here: https://t.co/Fyhkljzkbs
Amazing research symposium by 14 of our summer undergraduates, organized by @LABlake93. They have gone through research training for the past 12 weeks supervised by different lab mentors. Good luck on their future research experience! #KaplanLabUndergradExperience#cellag#silk
Beyond excited for my PhD work to be out in press! This is my first first-author primary research article. Thankful for the strong mentorship from @binwu1 who got me through this challenging project and to @yliu_UofU, @InoueLabJHMI, and Leslie for their brilliant contributions!
Very excited to share that our paper about Inducible RNA decay and P-Body is published on @natcomms. This work was spearheaded by @LABlake93 @BiophysicsJHMed in collaboration with @InoueLabJHMI and @yliu_UofU. https://t.co/yxFJ3DlCru
Excited to share the work on single-molecule translation imaging of C9ORF72 repetitive RNA, spearheaded by @GosiaJl
, Shaopeng Wang, and Daoyuan Dong, in collaboration with @shuying_sun,
, @NingInScience
, @tim_stasevich
, now published on Nat Comm: https://t.co/ZjOAxNuPw4
Hopkins Engineers @vivian_h_su and Emily Yao, co-presidents of @jhualtprotein, were on WYPR (w/ advisor @LABlake93) to talk about the student movement turning universities into engines for alt protein education, research, and innovation! (Starts at 17:00): https://t.co/eenE1tKiDK
@grnfluoresceblg These are keen insights, Gal! Thanks for the insightful write-up. It’s given me some fun experiments to try while we wait for news on the submission 😝
@liu_zukai@binwu1@yliu_UofU@InoueLabJHMI Thanks! We didn’t do transcriptome-wide studies to assess this. Though, to prevent any accumulated changes in expression, we expressed the RIDR construct into a tet3G backbone so that RIDR only expresses after dox induction, which we only add the night before our experiments.
@ara_latifkar@binwu1@yliu_UofU@InoueLabJHMI My live cell imaging experiments showed that the mRNAs lingered there for hours during stress, though I only imaged for max 2 hours in the paper. I had done a couple slightly longer experiments at 3-4 hours and many were still there tho. So I guess they just hang out!
My first first-author manuscript’s pre-print is up! So thankful to my PI @binwu1 and mentors @yliu_UofU and @InoueLabJHMI for pushing this work forward with me. Check it out here:
Excited to share our preprint by @LABlake93 and @yliu_UofU in collaboration with @InoueLabJHMI. We established a rapid inducible RNA decay technique and observed rapid recruitment and decay of mRNAs in p-bodies: https://t.co/EgwQ6hH7RC.
Protein synthesis is controlled with great precision both in time and space. Read about how the imaging field has managed to capture this intricate #translation choreography in a new review written by me, @anadlc13 and @binwu1!
