I was told not to tweet this until the houses adjourned for fear of jinxing it, but the Minnesota legislature just completed what is probably the most productive session anywhere in the country since probably the New Deal. Sweeping bills and reforms across every area of life.
@NEGOP@NEGOP is entirely responsible for the failure of this session. They decided, against the will of Nebraskans, that they’d prioritize hate and subjugation of women. I’m incredibly proud of the Dems who are standing up to these attacks.
Beloved friends, before you get angry that “no one is talking about this!” please consider that in these days of failing Twitter, you may not actually know if anyone’s talking about it or not.
schoolkids deserve free lunches and to read books without government interference, and anyone who takes away their food or their books should be haunted by ghosts
If you’re arguing against mask mandates when pediatric ICUs are at or near 200% capacity across the country, you are prioritizing your own need to maintain the illusion of normal over the safety of babies and children. Let’s not sugarcoat it.
You shouldn’t need to be personally affected to care about trans people but it seems that’s where we are so let me be clear:
Fascists are building their campaign by attacking trans people. But they’re not going to stop there.

#TheLockedTomb is absolutely insane out of context. One of the main characters spent her life in love with a dead barbie doll. God references none pizza with left beef. The most well-adjusted POV character gets stung by Portuguese man-o-wars for fun. Fanfic stops a vengeful ghost
Reading a book about queer people will not change your sexual identity. Nothing you read can change a heterosexual person into any other sexual identity. Banning books will not change that immutable fact.
