Aug 23 – Knoxville, let's do this thing again. Two @UTKPhysAstro@UTKnoxville professors putting physics into your ears. This time at Scuffy City Hall.
Dance to the glow of some oscilloscopes, you mad scientist you
The project has been a wild exploration of educational techniques, unlike anything we’ve ever seen — A unique experience in both design and physics education. A huge privilege to get to do this kind of work at @UTKnoxville@ArtsSciencesUT.

In the last two semesters, I partnered with close friend and collaborator Prof. David Matthews (@UTKnoxville College of Architecture & Design, School of Interior Architecture) on a radical educational experiment in large project-based learning.

We used real particle detectors (from CAEN and Supersaturated Environments) and 3D renderings of the lifespan of a cosmic ray (made in @Blender with real simulation of supernovas/kilonovas/hadronic interactions from Pythia) to tell this story and bring these phenomena to life.
Because the academy seems like a great idea and such...
Come join us! We're hiring an Asst Professor in Particle Theory at @UTKPhysAstro! Tell your friends and do some science with us!
