@Summerseat_mps @BBCCountryfile I'm sure you've done all the research but just incase other teachers see your post and don't know the downsides here is link to Lucky Hens website which also has details of ethical alternatives to school hatching projects. https://t.co/tuTVbMN4ia
Please help bees, butterflies and birds by reducing the mowing this year! By leaving a patch of grass in your garden to flower you'll be helping wildlife while reducing effort, cost and carbon emissions. Cartoon courtesy @sepponet#Nature#ClimateAction #biodiversity
Balloon and lantern releases create litter and #plasticpollution in landscapes and seas that can harm the environment, wildlife and livestock. Celebrate special occasions and loved ones by planting trees, wildflowers, or bee and butterfly gardens instead!

Our famous Armada Way blackbird has been singing his heart out all week.
The moment we served the injunction and the work stopped he was all we could hear.

@sometimesmovies Now is a great time to get started. I had a fleecy lined sports zippy top from Primark with zippy pockets. Just took keys and phone. Don't worry about water to begin with (especially if you start now while it's cooler) unless you're going a long way.
@HollyGeography@Girlguiding Bonkers! Keep going you're all doing a great job! It might take a generation to change some of these perceptions but you can be confident that the Rangers in your units will be informed advocates when they are in decision making positions in the future.
Hedgehogs don't have a fight or flight response, so when you poke a stick under your bonfire the hedgehog hiding there won't come running out.
He'll curl into a ball.
And as you carefully light just one side and the first smoke fills his lungs, he'll curl tighter.
Please MOVE IT
@LaurenRazavi And use people's names often if you can, admittedly I usually use this to learn kids names where they are less judgy when you randomly start practicing their names but I'm sure a bit of "Hi Julia! It is Julia isn't it? Is socially acceptable way of practicing with adults.
We face an urgent nature and climate crisis. But instead of a plan for nature's recovery on land and at sea, the UK Government is pursuing a dangerous agenda of deregulation that puts the very laws protecting wildlife at risk. But what does this mean exactly? (1/12)
@bookwormsarah I'd register anyway, they'll email you and let you know what they do/when they will have space. Our local unit has preschoolers, but one of the leaders is a nursery worker so is very much used to this age. Other units/you might be happier waiting 'til she starts school.
