I feel that VR cannot fail because it is too close to how we actually interact with the world and it will succeed when it's convenient enough for everyone to use.

I don't think the Frame will save VR gaming, but I hope it is a step back toward a more open system like we had in the early Oculus days. I'm excited about what hackers/modders will be able to do with it as an interface. That the Frame is open and native to linux is its biggest draw for me.

I'm most interested in using it as a monitor replacement in linux. I'm not particularly interested in the new VR games, but I plan on playing my back catalog in 3D. And I want more of that gaussian-splatting video tech which looks fantastic.

Visualize any plastic cutting board you have ever seen. Did any of them have slices and chunks removed that was equivalent to 10 credit cards? I know I haven't.

@King18Anime @CharlieFlufboi @MizoChris The Vive Focus Vision has pretty much the same feature set as the Steam Frame and costs $1149. Add in the wireless adapter and I'd say the Frame will be $1199.

@HardwareSteam I see it's a *randomized* reservation system. Everyone that reserves one over the next 3 days gets their ticket put into a blender. Everyone that reserves one Wednesday has just as much chance to get an order as someone that reserves today.
