@usmc12202 @LaceyFahs@BrowneAubrie@MsSuh104 i agree that people and citizens being involved with their own government and politics is important but I also believe that people need to be educated on what their saying before they just say something because the president o anyone else for that matter said it
@LaceyFahs@MsSuh104#APLangdiscussion#SuhAPLang i agree when you say that the tone has changed and i think that it will always be changing too but i also believe that other presidents have gotten into controversial topics before it’s just the way that people and the media portray the events
@MsSuh104 2 #SuhAPLang#APLangdiscussion I do agree there is a new normal of politic demonization especially with the current president because he doesn’t shut down hate or criticizing but in a way almost indirectly fuels it
@MsSuh104#APLangDiscussion#suhAPlang In my opinion i think that the tone of politics had changed with the election of President Trump as being much more of being on “one side or the other” and less compassion
@Amira91711182 @APSteinhauser#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion I agree that they might become too populated because there are only a few of them but also I think that only having a limited number could be an advantage because if there are so many sanctuary cities then chaos could break out with immigration laws
@MckenzieBrowne1@MsSuh104 I agree with you because it puts the officers in a tricky situation we’re it’s hard for them to actually make a right vs wrong decision. One one hand they save themselves and funding but on the other they are putting the community first
@MsSuh104 2 #SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion the benefits are the people feel safe and protected and the police have a good relationship with the community in which they work in. The drawbacks are that funding and a possible loophole for illegal immigrants
@MsSuh104 3 #SuhAPLang#ApLangDiscussion i would change the aspect where the police are in a lose lose situation. If they get funding taken away from making a decision they think is right and technically not “forced” to make they repercussions shouldn’t effect the funding.
@MsSuh104 1) #SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion The most interesting fact that I learned is that if Trump stops the funding then the outcome will be a very negative effect for the police mainly
@TsifiraV#APLangDiscussion#SuhAPLang Unfortunately you’re completely right. People will do anything if they believe it’s right or needs to be done and usually hate crimes are because the people are different and some are scared of different.
@madd1eclark@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion I agree with you because the probability of a hate related crime is bigger in cities like New York City or Los Angeles just because of their population but anything could happen anywhere really
@MsSuh104 4 #APLangDiscussion#SuhAPLang In an ideal world we all would except each other for who and what they are but in reality people will always hold peoples differences against them which will create divides and prevents security and peace
@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#APLangdiscussion Although i wish that my community is safe from hate-related crimes because it is on the smaller scale but however in the world we live in today anything is possible to happen with the connectedness that we are in. Resources are so much more receivable
@Samanth19902338 I really like your point of how we learn different thing from different people! If we were all exactly the same then their would be no growth or change we would just be stuck right where we are. #ApLangDiscussion#SuhAPLang
