@Alex_Intel_@Midnight_Captl Labs will likely be commoditized, and Nvidia is hedging with open weights models, including their own. Labs aren’t relying entirely on their models for their value.
@rohanpaul_ai In not sure if it changed, but in 2016, when he first ran for President, the only laws that he sponsored successfully were for naming Post Offices.
Turns out we’re not actually a totally socialist or communist country, to his dismay.
@Midnight_Captl@DaBrownMamba4 Given that Nvidia doesn’t have fabs, I don’t seem then threatening Hynix, Samsung, or Micron. The only thing I could see them doing is adding memory to their processors, but I’m not sure that’s the best use of their silicon.
@Midnight_Captl@benitoz It’s an insurance company that invests its premiums well. I’m not sure they change their philosophy of value investing. Berkshire did not participate in the Internet mania, which was bad in the short term, smart in the long term.
@The_AI_Investor I once blew our annual research budget (which I had not been told about) on one project using Nexis and D&B, but that was $20k. This is a bit more.
@Midnight_Captl@desertnode I wanted to see what you were referring to, but I can’t figure it out. Does it relate to your imaginative investment chain to polymers? Personally, I’m investing heavily in sand - the ultimate critical material. I’m close to a corner!
@Angry_Staffer Look, Trump launched this war to initiate regime change. In November his critics will be shown that he achieved his goal. They just stupidly assumed he meant Iran!
@Midnight_Captl@tszzl Professionals? That describes most people not diving in to learn what it actually is - and even some of them!
I’ve seen people who claim to know about AI in one breath and saying that it’s all hype in the next because it is probabilistic and not determinative.
@Midnight_Captl@canyoudugit8@Jespabe First, I think it’s the baseball caps. They’re really cool. Second, the AMD cult has been like this for over 30 years. If they still have the postings, you could see the same nonsense on https://t.co/Hg7VB2oEHV from 1996. If it had been true then, AMD would be 10x NVDA today.
