Having to pay an extra 20% on any essential goods or services is a tough call for all but the extremely wealthy.

Labour’s decision to impose VAT and business rates on independent schools is vindictive and a policy built on dogma and envy.

Not only has it already cost jobs for local people, but it will harm our local economy, and significantly impact those with SEND, military families and our comprehensives who are receiving no support for the increased number of students they will receive.

There are no available state school spaces in Rutland in Year 10 or 11 and only 3 SEND spaces in Year 9.
