The Annual Winter Conference on the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory since 1977. Open and inclusive science focused on the free discussion of current topics.
My first time ever at a conference was amazing! Two days of learning from great scientists (including my own labmate @kiahosseini 👏🏼) that make me very excited to continue growing in this beautiful field 🧠🌱 @fcneurocog@ndc_lab@georgebuzzell
A collage of the beautiful thank you notes from the students of Somerset Elementary in Miami to our @BehavNeuroFIU and @nurhopsifiu students for hosting a brain fair and teaching them all about their incredible nervous system! 🧠🥰
❗SAVE THE DATE❗
Our 14th Annual WIL Luncheon will take place on Sat., 9/28, during the @PavlovSociety Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, IN! We are thrilled that our Distinguished Speaker will be @iordanova_lab. Location details coming soon.

Some news! I have accepted a position at the Director of the MindCORE MRI Facility at U Penn. I'm excited to get started setting up a brand new MRI scanner and facility and working with the amazing researchers at @PennMindCORE!
@effatma@AllenNeuroLab Serious question. Where will the funds to cover the difference between @NIH fellowship and training stipend levels and local stipends levels come from? Our understanding is this cannot legally come from other federal sources dollars or offsets with federal dollars. Is this right?
UCSD Neuro Grad just informed us total costs would be $72,947 for fall 2024 for current students (enrolled 2022 or earlier). $50,203 stipend, $22,744 tuition and fees.
@ajshackman @PessoaBrain I think this is exactly right. NIH is not set up to fund cross-species work. Proposals that include more than one species has been nearly all “ND” that I’ve seen in study section or as lead investigator. R1 dislikes one species, R2 the other, and R3 their linkages. Triageland.
Congrats to newly minted Dr. Schlecht!!! @Sunnyschlecht He had a brilliant defense of his dissertation titled, “Circuitry and Function of Nucleus Reuniens of the Thalamus in Temporal Memory and Behavior.” @NeuroFIU@fiupsych@FCNeuroCog@FIUCASE
Why small mindedness is having big consequences @Brain1878
I live under its shadow. I suspect most of you do too. It is the great mountain of small things. The higher it gets, the bigger the shadow it casts: a malignant darkness that pervades our lives.

Looking forward to @PavlovSociety 2024 Sept. 26-28 and our session on reuniens with @StephenMaren, Tuğçe Tuna, Amy Griffin, and @Sheffield_Lab!!!
Thanks to @sanghalab and all the organizers!!!
AND, I can’t wait to join the @WomeninLearning luncheon!

Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggss!!
❤️🤩😂🥹😅🌈😂😂
The @AllenNeuroLab lab has realized my dream. Now can really study how various aspects of cognition and sleep develop. Piiiiigs!

Testing spatial working memory in pigs using an automated T-maze https://t.co/FOJHU2g9w0
A publication from @AllenNeuroLab et al., at @FIU discusses the underutilization of pigs in behavioral neuroscience despite their potential as a translational model. Pigs offer advantages such as similarities to humans in brain anatomy and physiology. https://t.co/xmIq386O77
