Hence most airports have cross-cross runway configuration to accommodate wind shifts. However, at times even the most desirable runway orientation may not accommodate the prevailing xwind due to wind direction/velocity
@StephanieAbrams for sure winds play a part for TO/LND. Strong crosswinds up the level of complexity. And yes, lower vis = higher aircraft separation. Results in traffic delays.
