The fundamental problem is that there's a kind of block that stops most people from understanding that rising temperatures will actually destabilise the planet and permanently screw up the food supply, meaning unprecedented war and mass death is on the way. People can't seem to intellectually understand it or emotionally feel it, and we need to do both, like yesterday, 30 years ago.
