@UnstructuredCap What if someone just doesn’t give a shit about developing some useless startup or working on AI?
Might be hard to believe but some people actually have an interest in finance. Quant shop is cool but there’s like 12 seats so banking/PE are the natural path
@kevinxu It can be the case that AI is a bubble right now AND it ends up being the biggest opportunity in human history up to this point.
These don’t have to be mutually exclusive events.
@Restructuring__ Maybe I’m living life wrong, but what exactly do people do with all the extra time? Like if I averaged 20 hours less per week it would probably just end up being a waste anyway. Better to just work more and make twice as much as others my age
@JamesMcPherson Infallible reasoning! No need for any actual analysis, simple statements of a clear path to 100x revenue is all you need before dumping your entire livelihood into a dream. Definitely impossible for anything to go wrong here
5 years from now , you will receive $3050 checks every week from below parties —
$500 check from NVDA
$1000 from OpenAI
$800 from Claude
$150 from micron
$600 from government
That’s well over $12000 a month.
Work will be optional.
@junkbondanalyst@zerohedge I think the real story here is that there is no trust in data center debt at IG tenors. HY AI debt is tighter to this than it feels like it should be but obviously on much shorter timelines.
@bigdinnercat@Tonybruhprano@zectrillionaire Tech, I have no idea. PE/PC are hyper competitive but there are spots for people who work hard enough.
Most other things you either just need to go to school long enough (law/medical) or be able to do your job somewhat well.
@SkeleTruth@Tonybruhprano@zectrillionaire Online applications are a black hole. While I can’t speak on what it’s like in the UK, (I believe things like school prestige mean more) but, in the US, you find success by picking up the phone.
If so many fail by doing something one way, why continue doing that?
@SkeleTruth@Tonybruhprano@zectrillionaire Please explain to me your grievance here. Maybe you can help fill the gaps in my ignorance.
Can’t imagine we are too far apart in age, so why do you feel so disadvantaged?
@Tonybruhprano@zectrillionaire So terribly wrong. You only have to be somewhat competent to have companies begging to hire you. So many people are just awful at their jobs it’s not hard to stand out
@ltwigyy@SmokeySnipe Don't know about the Trump accounts, and in the near term, anything can happen; however, my view is this.
While good for beginners, they will move on to better platforms with more favorable fee structures. PMs to me feel like regulatory minefields. I think it's a tough sell
@CGInvesting10 Going to believe this is a joke, but this is literally one of the primary reasons call options exist. If you're speculating on a short-term jump, call options are an easily accessible superior strategy to whatever this is
